I am not sure your Attorney will empathize much with your concern; so, you might like to involve your employer. You might explain that there could always be an RFE (which has limited time to respond) that was issued - which could get lost in the mail, etc., etc. Hence, the need to let USCIS know.
Your HR could then write to CSC.XII.140@dhs.gov - while including info. such as Receipt #, RD, Category filed under, beneficiary's name, DoB, Position Title, and date of employment.
