June'2004 visa revalidation tracker

I had applied for my revalidation on 06/28. St louis date is 06/29. MO was cashed around July 10. I tried calling several times and finally managed to get a convincing answer from a kind lady. I started by asking her I am not sure if my pp had reached Washington. She got my PP # and told me that myself and my wife had our visas approved and the stamping would happen either today or pretty soon and we should be getting our passports. She would talk no more. I checked with fedex and couldnt trace my package. So guess they are still working on it. But as the previous replies has mentioned no one is ready to give a status but all they need to give us a status is our PP #. I had called 3 times earlier and spoken to different people with no luck. This time I called the same # and select option 1 and then 0 and I was connected instantly. Maybe because it was Wednesday and they take queries only from 11 or something. Anyways Just thought I'll update the group so that everyone can get this info.

PS: I had requested for my application to be withdrawn but the lady told me that since my case was approved I would get the stamping and they will return my passport. The withdrawal application would have no effect now. I had submitted my application for withdrawal 2 days back.

Did the lady tell you the date your passport was received at the DC office?

Hi Sherry76,

No change is made to the I94 and you get them as it is, wether it is the I94 from port of entry or the I94 that comes with I797

Sherry 76 and Swas,

Tear of the I-94 part from the botton section of I-797 notice of action and stable it in your passport. you can just leave the expired one in the passport as it is.

When you leave this country airline folks will remove both from your passport.

Hi Lucknowwala,
The lady did not tell me when the pp was received at DC. She would just tell me what happenned to my stamping and approval. Infact she wouldnt give me an exact date for anything. I was glad she told me the PP is safe n DC. Now I am just waiting to get it back. Hope this helps.

Stamped Visa Picture not clear

Hey,

I recd my passport today (SL date 07/06) - recd on 08/05. My picture isnt clear either. So dont worry about it...maybe there is some problem at Washington center stamping it.

Hi All,

I recd my passport today. As mentioned in my earlier quote , I had sent them a fax to return it back to me...(even if without stamp) because my 485 has been approved - thats last stage of GC for anyone not knowing what it is.

Surprisingly though, they have stamped my PP with the H1B visa with the correct validity...guess they just ignored my Fax !

Anyways, my SL recv date was 07/06 ... and PP stamped is 08/03.

I called this morning - around 11:45 am PDT. Chose option 1 then 0. After a wait of about 15 minutes, a lady came on line - I told her my problem...sent passport on July 6th(date it reached St. Louis), need it back, sent fax on July 22nd, no response so far etc etc.

She said it takes "1 month" for the envelopes to reach Washington (from St Louis office) so it will reach Washington around Aug 6th or so - after which, I should expect the passport in about 2 weeks !!!!

I asked her if she could see if my passport has already reached Washington and she said she didnt have any info on that...no access to that info, she said....

I have read on this forum earlier that someone was able to get the info from the INS person about the processing status from a computer....can that person please tell me how to reach someone who will have access to that info.

You should get VISA as in I797.
PP must be valid for least 6 months at the time of processing.

Yes, that is how it should be...they will return the old original (white) (expired) I-94 with the passport. The I-94 that is attached to your original 1-797 receipt is your valid I-94 now.

When you leave US, the airline person checking you in will take both (the old original) and the new one attached to your i-797.

Question

I am worried now. Many here got it but we are at dark.
If I call Washington number , what details I have to give ? For ex my passport number, DOB, name? Anything else? :confused:
