Never called DC office, as this forum was giving me an idea of

No cigar yet!

Hello..

I sent my passport on June 2nd and was received by SL on June 3rd. Haven't received it back yet!
Called DC yesterday to make sure they atleast have my PP.
Was told that they have it but status is still "pending".
Am a bit concerned as to why it hasn't been approved and stamped yet.

Have travelled outside the US for work on previous H-1Bs numerous times and PP is full of stamps and other visas.
Also got previous H-1Bs stamped from Vancouver, Canada and Caracas, Venezuela. Maybe that has something to do with it!

Any comments??

Guys,
I just called DC to confirm that they received my PP and I got shocked.
I send my PP on 27th July to SL and and it received DC on 2nd Sept.
I don't know Why it took almost month? Normally I seen it takes 8-10 days.
So can I still consider my SL. date 27 July good???

After the stamping can we tear the I-94 from the approval notice and staple it in Passport?

Or
what should we do? Like having the entire approval notice within the passport?

I removed the old expired(stamped date when I last entered this country) I-94 and attached the new I-94 last time.

Still wating for my passport. SL receive date is 2nd jul-03.

Any idea when exactly I can expect?

I think here this is what the state department required documents mean (at least this is what is looks from their website.

At the POE (point of entry) you get an I-94 (arrival/departure) card.

I think for Visa revalidation they expect you to staple the original I-94 that you got at POE and if that has expired and or if you changed or extended your status then you send a copy or the original I-797 approval along with the I-94 (which if you have not removed will be at bottom right)

At least that is what I did I had stapled the original I-94 card and sent a copy of the new I-797 approval (which had the new I-94)

In short they want to see your original I-94 card that you got.

That should not be an issue I am in a similar situation as yours multiple visas and travel....I didn't have any problem.

--- ---------READ the Instruction on the back side of your H1 approval notice, once you receive the I-94 attached with H1 approval notice you are supposed to detach I-94 and staple it in your Passport (If you have expired I-94 still in the passport attach the newI-94 on top of expired I-94 on same page, when you go out of US you have to surrender both the I-94 at airline counter better staple bothI-94 you can ask for a pin or stapler from airline counter and both will go to BCIS record that you departed on XYZ date.

****Keep the Original H1 approval at home in your BCIS (INS) file/folder, always make copes of complete H1 approval both the sides and keep the copies in separate file. Also always get the copy of current I-94 or expired I-94 (front and back) and keep the copies in your BCIS file at home because if you loose the current I-94 then you can get newI-94 if you have the copy.

What type of payment you attached? Did you make the payment through Cashier check or money order? I would like to know about this. One of my friend has sent his application on July 31. His application has been received at DC on Aug 22. Yours could be delayed because of the payment type. Please let us know this information.

FedEx has picked up my package from DC, and the estimated delivery is tomorrow!

I am excited... it is pathetic to see what kind of things have started to excite me.... :)
