mike, one question. did they ask anything to your wife in the interview? did she showed any papers etc?

yes, i got the plastic card 3 weeks after my interview/stamped date. it has 10 years expiration date. congratulations to you again and good luck to everyone.

Update on my visit to HAR INS re our 485 status

Dear friends, I went to Hartford INS yesterday (my first visit) to check the status of our 485 case, which is posted to be transferred on 10/14/2004. The officer confirmed that it was scanned into their database and it will take about 16 mo - I think she just gave me an average number - since the TD.

greenie, thanks for your update. actually it's just luck. gpt-amit got the interview letter in 5 months, edvtorres 6 and mike in 7 months. let's see when the august people get it!!!
 
Fingerprint Notice

Hey friends, have you got a receipt number (like EAC) for fingerprint application when you filed for 485? And, is there a way to check its status?

No once your case has transferred you can no longer track it with the EAC # from your 485 application its a case of going into Hartford to get the status.

I see. That's why the officer yesterday asked me for the A#, not the EAC#. So, imawaiting, have you received your FP notice by mail? The officer said given the transfer her office will send it to us so we just have to wait. I believe for all of us the keyword here is "wait"... :(

I got my 2nd Fingerprint notice for Dec4th 04 having went and due to the cold weather my fingers are badly cracked so they were unable to read so I had to go back JAnuary 23 05 they were still bad but they advised me I wouldn't have to go again and that they will just use the data they have already collected. you will get your FP notice but like you said it is a matter of waiting. Right now all we can track our cases on is people who have signed up in HArtford transfers and follow there interview and Transfer dates.

I am sorry but I had missed your querry.

In general, all the questions were directed towards both of us. Rather, they were mainly requests for the documents. The only question as such was like are you both older than 26 years (?). I did not understand the significance of the question. Other questions were the standard repetition of questions listed in 485 application (e.g. are you member of terrorist groups, communist party , etc). There were requests for marriage-certificate and my son's (born in USA) birth-certifcate. He never asked for W-2 or pay stub or tax returns (1040). We had carried all the documents neatly put in two different folders with each one with its own tabs and table of content in each folder. So furnishing paper was a breeze.

My lawyer had advised to not engage in conversation with the officer. He had also advised to not volunteer any extra information.

By the way, my plastic card did arrive yesterday. Waiting to get my spouce's card now.

Yes, she does work. We did carry employment letter for both of us. We did carry the pay stubs for both of us. I think they did ask about the employment letter. If we did not have it then I dont think it mattered, but we had prepared for every possibility.

Hi Guys, I am just wondering that when those 5000 employment based cases came to CT? If they came in june (as I recall, it's june) then we may see a big time lag between the approval of june and aug transfer cases. Please post if any of you hear anything.

It's just our luck! the VSC is processing march 2004 cases officially...:-(
 
Not Sure August/Sept I guess, it was in the reply from congress enquiry. but having said that all the bull they are feeding us with different info it could be nonsense!!!

One of our co_worker got GC from hartford

Last week we called our Lawyer’s office. They told this month one of our coworker got GC from Hartford. Their 485 was filed in 2002 Oct. Same lawyer. They are from Kenya
Not sure when their application was moved to Hartford. We believe it is after us bc the lawyer was telling us from our employer our case is the first she filed and first got transferred to local office.
