Interview : Transferred to HARTFORD, Connecticut

Gone all quiet again, don't know if anyone has been reading around but Newark has stopped processing 485 until Oct 05 and I read NYC and Boston was in the same boat. This is not a good sign we need movement whats the wait time on EAD these days? my 4 th renewel will be due soon.

what can be the reason?

imawaiting, whar can be the reason for it? Is it the visa number issue? I will take an apt and go to hartford INS sometime this month and ask them about it.

This was the first post that made me go hunting. I found some info about, there is other priorities that need to be dealt with and it is also on N400 applications. it hasn't mentioned Hartford Just newark boston and nyc but who knows.


My 485 was filed in March, 7 of 2003 and transferred to Newark on Nov, 3rd, 2004. After waiting for 5 months, I contacted NJ senators, congressmen and nothing helped. So I went to moan in front of my lawyer, who called Newark 485 unit head on Friday.

Newark currently is not focusing on 485 transfer cases and they are having some other priorities. So everybody, if your case, like mine, was transfered somewhere late 2004 and still pending, just relax and wait. They say they won't be dealing with 485 case for another half year. The earliest time they will be dealing with 485 case should be next fiscal year, which is Oct, 1st, of 2005.

Might be sporadic cases where people get interview letters, but those were there in line for a loooooooooong time. So don't let one or two cases fool you.

Really, USCIS is indeed the worse agent on earth, no doubt about that. God help us.
 
It looks like they're even cancelling interviews which've been already scheduled in Newark... I'll just pray this isn't happening in Hartford... no please :(

Did Anyone with TD after August contacted Congressman/Senator ?

Folks,

Looks like Hartford has gone into hibernation once again. Did Anyone with TD after August 2004 contacted Congressman/Senator's office ?
All other centers are moving fast - philly processing Dec,2004 TD cases and Baltimore processing Jan05/Dec04.
Looks like even elephant takes less time to deliver a baby that getting 485 approved from Hartford !!

Also what is the process for contacting congressman/ senetor's office and how effective are they !!!!

Any sugggestions ?
 
Hi,

We contacted our congress men. He send a letter to INS office 12/04. He didn't get any reply. Again he called Hartford INS office on 1/15/05. They told they reciceved around 5000 employment based application. So interview may take any time from 10 to 12 month from the date they recived the application.
We contacted the senator, got replay form senator office regarding our case status inquiry says this case was transferred to here on Oct 7th and may be schedule for interview by August.

So the bottom line is contacting congress men or senator won't help you :).

smt, atleast they did not say that they have stopped the interviews until oct! I think I heard before that they got those applications in june-july last year. if that is the case, then we are still okay (if you can say so). If they stop processing, that is a bigger trouble!!!! the way, it was going until well, I am going there next monday.

Senator doesnt work nowadays especially in Hartford. Also, are you the one working in CIGNA, Bloomfield through Satyam.

Just hold your breath and have patience.

I got info from a senator friend source that you should hear something by 9 months. if not contact congressman not senator they have more strings. which is what SMT has come back with OCt RD will prob be aug I was told to give it until July then enquire again.

From what I can see it seems to be just Newark. Congress has been enquiring and there is no come back of it stopping just a high focus on the 5000 case drop received last year, but I think our turn will be here soon processing dates have changed from FEB 04 to June 04 the good thing is as of last april they stopped receiving 485 applications in Hartford so it could be transferred cases so keep your fingers toes whatever crossed and lets hope it is our turn soon.

Good Luck to all here in HArtford, it is one of the slower processing but I guess good things come to those who wait!!
 
Hi Everyone:

Just to keep you updated. MY family and I applied for renewal of work authorization directly at hartford on March 01, 2005. Went to do fingerprints and ID on April 12, 2005. Checked status today and it says application approved on 4/19/05. Card will be mailed as soon as possible. Just hoping I485 will be coming soon.

Hi Janan

I just wanted to know when your EAD was due to expire mine should expire in September which my case SHOULD be dealt with by then fingers crossed anybody else have same situation. it means another I765 each application and lawyers fee's (new charge for applying for too many EAD's)
