I-730 Approval and Work Authorization?

Hi everyone, I need some clarification about my wife’s work authorization after I-730 approval.

• My asylum was approved on 9/4/2025.
• I filed an I-730 for my wife in Oct 2025.
• She is in the U.S. on STEM OPT and currently working.

My main questions are:

1. After the I-730 is approved, can she keep working, or will she need to stop until she gets a new EAD?
2. After approval, does she just file I-765 under (a)(5) for an asylee EAD, and can she keep working on her OPT EAD while that is pending?

Any help from people with experience is appreciated.

She can work directly with an asylee I-94 (or with an unrestricted Social Security card), without needing an EAD.
