How Can Same Sex Couples Be Together In United States

how can my girlfriend and i be together legally in the united states,i am british and need to find a way of being able to be with her legally,is there any same sex couples visa available? or what options do we have,we need to do something quickly.ty for any help

In response to your question, U.S. is a decent country and does not recognize same marriage for a green card. I would suggest you should not waste your time applying for a visa.

At the moment, US immigration laws make no provision for same-sex couples. I feel we are about a 100 year behind times, but that is how it is. Sorry.

It was not so long ago that such a statement was applied to individuals of non-Caucasian decent. ;)

As Rajiv mentioned, there is no provision in the law to recognize same-sex couples, and I believe the Defence of Marriage Act back in the 1990s explicitly forbids the US government from recognizing them by regulation or other non-statute means.

My friend's sister is gay and living in California, and successfully obtained permanent residence via her employer. Your strategy should be to pretend your relationship doesn't exist and determine what options each of you have to independently come to the United States, since in the eyes of the law your relationship doesn't exist and is neither a plus nor a minus.

Or, go to Canada.

Amazing that there are so many underserving people in the USA getting greencards.

I have posted this question and maybe you could answer.
Does D/S on an I-94 preclude one from accumulating illegal presence for the lottery? The I-94 was from 1989.
Applicant filed for asylum in 2001 but the case was never followed thru and was withdrawn in 2005 as they left US for Canada and was approved for asylum there.

You had better pay the legal fee and consult with lawyers face to face, whenever there is a possibility of entry bar.
 
Unfortunately the U.S on a Federal Level does not recognize same-sex marriage, but I think that there are 1 or 2 states that do (correct me if I'm wrong?).

but immigration law is a federal law, so it doesn't recognize it. :(
