waited 4 yrs, so a couple of months won't hurt

PS did on 10/19/04
LUD date changed on nov 5th
card not ordered yet

my wife same dates except that my wife's card has been ordered today ie 12/8/04
 
Maybe I was lucky

Here is my experience, just a reference for the rest out there waiting

I-485 Approved date: 10/20/2004, I won't forget taht date for a long time
Passport stamping and Finger Print appointment: 11/09/2004
Plastic card ordered: 12/06/2004
Card in mail: 12/09/2004
Card Received: 12/11/2004...this ends my quest for freedom.

Just a thought, the perspective of life does change after receiving it. Good luck to you all.
 
Completed GC process

4 and half years wait is over. Please see the details in signature. It took 7 months to receive the plastic card.

MY wife got her plastic card and mine is just waiting for some nitwit to move their butt and do the necessary changes. I am tired of this wait. One thing that this all GC experience did was that i have a lot of patience now for things.
 
No change of status message yet from the approval date.
LUD changed today.

Wife's approval still pending. Her RFE for BC & PP/Visa copy sent.
 
I-551 Vs I-797

Anyone from Dallas who have thier 485 aproved ? I would like to schedule an info pass appt but is Dallas District office the only place where we can get out passport stamped ?

Also, what is the approval form called . is it I-797 or is it I-551 ? Could someone let me know the diffrence .

Wife's card has been ordered on Dec. 16th 2004

It takes around 6 months after PS.
I received 2 emails from USCIS at 10:50 PM on Dec. 16th 2004.
It checked on USCIS web site, it was changed.

What to do next

Hello,

My I-485 got approved( As per the online Msg on Dec17th). I have no idea what to do next. I live in Newyork city.

Can you guys please explain the process...
 
What to do after 485 approval ---

Wait for the approval notice.
Go to http://infopass.uscis.gov to set up an appointment.
Print out your infopass appointment
Bring your passport, 2 passport photos, all your I-94, EAD, AP and infopass with you
Go to federal plaza at your secheduled time to get your passport stamped.
Then wait for your plastic green card to be mailed to you.


That is it.
 
I received my card. My wife received her card a week before.

PS: 11/09/2004 (Alrlington, VA)

2 passport style photos for InfoPass appointment.

New to this thread. Just made an appoinment via InfoPass. It requires to bring 2 passport style photos. Does anybody know the detail link of the website (can't find it on the www.state.gov) to the requirement of these photos? Are they same as photos used in EAD, AP application? Thanks.

My Wife received her card today.

Please refer to my signature.

There are some difference between my wife's and my card.
- Department name and logo
- Resident Since
My Resident Since: 06/15/04 <-- My AD of I-485
Wife's Resident Since: 11/01/01 <-- My PD (Labor)
If anyone tell me for this difference, I will appreciate it.
