There are 47000 cases pending for name check which have passed six months and waiting for years. USCIS wants to clean up these cases first and so they have moved the processing dates at NSC from Jul 30 to Jun 8. This will provide an opportunity to first clear the cases of name check stuck people then they will proceed to other cases...

This information I obtained from reputed attorney office.

I read on one of these forums of some one talking to IO and getting them to send email to Adjudication Officer.

I called up twice this Friday. Spoke to 2 different IO's. One did not want to give any info about my case. The other gave partial information. Both did not want to send emails (It would not have mattered anyway, my case is not assigned to any officer).

So all one can do is pray for GC.
 
Appreciate if virenpshah could spell out his/her EB category and PD while we assume that his/her COO (country of origin) is India.

The information with regard to 47000 cases that are pending and fall under the new > 6 month-rule is quite interesting and important. What we will not know is how many of these 47000 cases pending for name check are from the family based and employment based categories. Even if all the 47000 cases are employment based petitions, we will never how many of those belong to which EB category and the nationality of the petitioners.

Transparency is what has been lacking from the DOS and especially from USCIS on information related to the pending cases of immigrant petitions. Organizations such as IV should rather advocate and demand for such transparency instead of campaigning on issues that IV will have absolutely no influence.

We will continue to see approvals without regard to the PD or RD of I-485 as long as the stakeholders do not question the USCIS and as long as applicants flock to the congressmen and senators for expediting their background or name checks.

By the way, this morning I got two separate e-mails of approval notice for my H1 and family's H4 extension for 3 more years (initial 3+3+3). Hopefully we all will get our I-485 approval notices before April 30, 2008 without having to approach the congressmen and senators or the first lady or the first gentlemen (sic).

My country of origin is India.
I seriously doubt that people will get approval in Apr 08 itself due to following factores:

1. Several cases stuck in NC will get better priority as several of them will be having PD long before 2003.

2. The unknown part to me is that how far is our application processed. Meaning when we have applied in Jun or Jul 2007, at this point "Are our application ready for approval and just waiting for a visa number?" or "Our application will start for processing and then when is processed, will go to in a line that wait for visa numbers"

In that sceanrio, there could be several cases who have applied prior to Jun 2007 and are just waiting for visa numbers. That will delay approval of our cases.

I had one more question as how much role RD of service center plays?

When I called TSC couple of days back and IO told me that my case cannot be processed since it has RD later than 4/30/2007 and TSC is currently processing applications that have RD of 4/30/2007 or earlier?

In the contrary to this I have seen many approvals (like more than 50%) in April 2008 (4 days) that had RD at TSC which were later than 4/30/2007 and some of them were even form Decemeber 2007 (someone form Turkey and South Korea).

This is so frustrating and appears to be an infinte loop when Service Center RD is current than we don't have Visa num,bers for EB2 India and when now Visa dates are current we have this TSC RD loop, Oh GOD!! please have mercy on us and help us get out of this Mess of USCIS.

The unknown part for us is your EB-Category and PD and Service Center and RD of your I-485 :)

My guess is everybody who filed in June/July 2007 and before will get their GCs before December 2009, which IMHO is not bad.

Where_Gc- I too got the same answer. I think the Rep or IO are just throwing some answer and they are not providing real answers. They play with us treating us as babies.

Even though USCIS was telling me that they process Apr 2007, when I called them last week, we could see approvals on June 2007 RD also. Any more approvals on the polled list here. Please update. Thanks
