DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

So even if I send my documents in August, my form will not be rejected because of this "expiration date: 03/31/2025" in my form, right?

Also after 03/31/2025, if they put another form with further expiration date, do you think that they may change the edition of i693 form?
Again, the edition form is what matters. Be sure to check online prior to filing to confirm what the edition date on the form currently being accepted is. I cannot speculate as to when/if a new form edition will be released/required.

I have a question about filing fee for AOS
I sent 2 cases to lockbox (my husband and I) and I sent money order, but I combined the money order for both cases ‍♀️ only now I realized that it is has to be separate payments for each case… how can I fixed it? The cases was delivered a week ago haven’t received any response and money hasn’t been cashed out

The payment does not have to be separate, so there’s nothing to fix at this point. Including separate payments is recommended (not a must) as a guard against having all the applications rejected by the Lockbox in a situation where there’s some issue with one of the applications.

@Sm1smom Hey mom! I have question for you: How will getting a green card through the lottery affect the I-730 form for the derivative spouse

I was approved for asylum in 2024. A couple of months later, I applied for a green card (filled out form i-485). I also filled out form i-730 so that my wife could also be granted status. My wife entered as a tourist and applied for asylum before the end of the term (she has a separate case) and she is still waiting for an interview.

A couple of months later, in May 2024, I found out that I also won the lottery, so we decided to simultaneously apply for i-485 to change status through the lottery, and soon we will have an interview.

I have a question: If I am approved for a green card through the lottery, but she is denied (since she is probably out of status, although she applied for asylum while she was in status), then what will happen to form i-730? Will she still be able to get status?

P.S. We both in US.

P.S.S. I googled but didn't find anything, maybe you know

My guidance on this platform is limited to DV based processing. Please speak with an experienced immigration lawyer.

Hello!
I am filing Form 1042-NR for taxes, and I’m being asked to provide my intended U.S. departure date. Should I enter my visa expiration date, which is in 2029? I’m confused because I’ve also applied for a Green Card. What would you advise me to do?

Hi Sm1smom,

I sent my DV Payment and it was received by registered mail on Sunday, March 2nd. I still have not received my receipt notice from the DV fee payment yet. I included a SASE. Checked with USCIS. They said to wait. Any other ideas?

Have you checked with your provider to confirm if the payment has been processed or not?

p.s. USCIS does not process the DV payment, it is done by the KCC, so KCC is the one you should be following up with.

I'm sorry, I do not provide tax filing guidance. I suggest you speak with a tax filing expert.

I received a 2NL from KCC stating they are aware of my decision to do AOS. Regarding the bank, I did cashier's check, so that money is already deducted from the account and time of printing the check.

That doesn't mean USCIS will have any information about the DV payment, that payment is processed by KCC.

Money being deducted from your account does not mean the payment has been processed by the recipient. So you need to contact your bank to confirm if the recipient has gone ahead and proceed the CC upon receipt.

Hello.
I applied for AOS based on DV program as a principal applicant, sent my I-485 form with documents and sent package with I-485 and all supporting documents for my child (4 years old). I signed his form with my name in Part 12 item number 6 "Preparer's Certification and Signature". In Part 10 "Applicant's Certification and signature" I put "N/A". Made money order for "950$".
As result I received my child's documents back with reasons: "Block for signature was not valid. Please sing an application with correct fees.."
Question:
Do I understood write: I need to put my signature (my name) in Part 10 item number 4 "Applicant's signature"? And do I need to put my contact information in Part 10 item numbers 1,2,3?
What fee I need to send in this case: 950$ or 1440$ (as now I will send just child's documents without parents).

Since your child is a minor, you sign Part 10 with your details, while leaving Parts 11 & 12 blank. Include a copy of the NOA received from USCIS from your accepted application and the $950 fee.
