DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

I have a question about maintaining F-1 status: So my friends are getting married and they've asked me to officiate their wedding (I said yes, I'm happy for them and honored to be asked to officiate). I'll need to get ordained and report it on the I-485 which also requires me to describe my relationship with the org. I'm wondering if the CO will interpret this as work and therefore a violation of my F-1 status. I won't be paid, I won't get any benefits (accommodation, flight tickets, etc.) from officiating, and it will be a one time thing. Am I worrying about nothing or should I go back to my friends and say no? Is there a way to phrase my relationship with the org to make sure CO won't think it is work?
“Work” doesn’t have to be paid to count as work. I don’t know how this specific issue would be looked at, but just to highlight that whether or not you received payment is not the defining factor. That said, I don’t know if your friends would count as an “employer”. You may want to consult your college’s international student office for advice about this.

Hello, today I called USCIS for my biometrics appointment. The agent told me that my biometric appointment was scheduled for the 12th of March and had passed, so they made a request to schedule a new biometric appointment. What I do not understand is that USCIS texted me on 12th of March that they had received my case and sent a notice, which I haven't received yet. How is it possible that they scheduled a biometric appointment on the same day USCIS informed me?

I called again and connected with a different agent. Apparently, there was a misunderstanding. The request for a new biometric appointment was rejected because the appointment is actually scheduled for April 3rd.

I'm not surprised. Anyway, hope you know you can reschedule the bio appointment online on your own to an earlier date as against waiting until 4/3.

p.s. do add your case progress to the 2025 Timeline spreadsheet.

I haven't received my biometric notice. Do I need it on the day of my biometric appointment, or can I go without it? Apparently, appointments for rescheduling are available every day starting tomorrow—should I wait for my notice?
Also how can I add my case to the Timeline Spreadsheet?

4/3 is too far. I recommend you to reschedule the appointment through uscis website and you get the notice letter within minutes. You must bring the letter with you to the appointment.

Hi Mom, I have a question about the DV administrative fee of $330.
On the form, they ask for my address. When I applied for the DV lottery , I used the address where I used to live, and that’s the address shown on the DV selection letter.
Should I include the address from the DV selection letter on the form, or should I use my current address?
