Thank you, but will they be able to see the amount somehow? I have nothing to show them related to the citation fees, and still I mentioned them in my I485 form. I thought they may ask for a supporting document showing that they're really below $500.

Do you think that these citations may affect my AOS application as a derivative applicant?

They clearly state what they're interested in: DUI or other felony
So if I were you I wouldn't mention your minor fines in application, but would be ready to explain if specifically asked

Over analyzing. If you're reporting the citations along the line of what is on the sample pre-filled I-485, you will be fine. Highly recommend against NOT mentioning the "minor fines".

Very few lawyers have much experience with DV AOS cases, given that there are typically only around 1000 a year across the whole country and most of those are done DIY. If you feel comfortable sharing what some of the complications are, you might get some useful information here (including whether or not to look for a lawyer after all depending on the exact issues).

Please tell me what to do. I sent 2 forms I-485 for me and my son, in response received 2 SMS with the numbers of receipts for each. After some time, I received a letter I-797C that they received my form in which my alien's number was indicated. After some time, a second letter came with the assigned date of delivery of biometrics, but again only on me. The last letter came a week ago, the date of biometrics was scheduled for the next week. But there is not a single letter to my son. I am registered on my.uscis, but there is only information that the cases have been received. How to get a letter to a son about a call for biometrics?

So you never got a NOA for your son? Call the USCIS 1800 number to follow up on the NOA.
For his bio notice which has not been received, log into your son’s USCIS account, which you should have been able to create with his USCIS number. You’ll need to be a bit creative here, so act like you’re trying to reschedule the bio date by using your own bio date (assuming his bio is scheduled for the same date as yours) and his receipt number. If you’re able to reschedule the bio appointment, you’ll be able to download his appointment letter from his account.
Thanks for the hint. Yesterday I called and they told me that the biometrics were prescribed, reported the date and time and said that they would make a note to take it without a letter. They will send a second letter so that we have an alien number.

You should take what they told you about your son being able to complete the bio without the bio appointment notice with a pinch of salt. I’ve never come across anyone being able to do that.
Again, since you have date confirmation, log into his USCIS a/c, initiate a bio appointment reschedule (which could be for before or after the initial scheduled date). You will be able to download the new bio appointment date almost immediately.
Thanks again. So I did it and everything worked out. I postponed the record for the next Monday and now we have a confirming document.
He has an arrest that was dismissed.. so I think we may need a crimmigation lawyer, but it's tough to find one that also has experience with the Diversity Visa..
Hey, i just checked my uscis account and it updated a couple days ago to "new card is being produced" from "biometrics taken", I haven't received any interview letter... please tell me this means my interview got waived and I should be receiving green card soon? OMG i'm too excited!!

Hello all, I had some questions regarding a few questions from i-485.
1. In page 8, part 4 (7) it asks for Employer or school (current or most recent) and then in another box next to it Name of employer/company/school. I used the same entry for both of those. Not sure if I'm overthinking this one, but I found this a bit confusing.
2. Regarding page 19, part 9 (59-60) - how does one assess their assets/liability if they own a home, but with a bank loan/mortgage. The way I did this was, include the the home's value in the total asset. But also include whatever we owe (the total remaining principal, but not the interest), as a liability. Does that seem reasonable?

1) Same entry can be fine, but you may also specify it. I did it like Employer or school: XXX University, and name of employer as: XXX department
For the job, you can write the employer in first box, and specific department in the second.
2) I did the same. I selected the house's current market value as asset, and principal balance remaining as liability. One of my friends working with a lawyer was asked to do like this, so did I. Do not forget to add the explanations to the additional information.
