DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

I’m worried my TPS will be terminated soon and I won’t get approval before Oct 2025 ( or worst situation dv applicants will also be terminated? I just imagine I know I might be overthinking ). Do you think when should I start asking uscis to expedite my case? I filed on 10/27.
Thank you so much!
They can't terminate DV lottery this easily. Even if they pass the law to terminate the entire program, I'm pretty sure 2025 winners are safe.

AFAIK Trump attempted to terminate the DV program in his first term and was unsuccessful.

Unlikely to terminate it, but he can make life difficult for some selectees like last time with the Muslim ban and then using the excuse of covid backlogs to de-prioritize DV interviews at consulates. However - none of those restrictions as I recall related to people doing AOS, only consular processing.

Hello again,

In last 2.5 years in the US, I received two citations, one for speeding (plead guilty, paid $144) and one for parking (plead guilty, paid something around $45). I did not keep the tickets or any records, and I have nothing as supporting document. They are below $500 and according to the spreadsheet, I may not need to file anything as supporting document for these two, but still do you think that I should ask for an official driver record history and add it to my AOS application? On I-485 form, I stated both in additional information, but I am still not sure if I should add a supporting document.

Thanks!

I was a DV23 winner as an F1 student. I submitted my I-485, and my appointment was scheduled for September. However, the visa numbers were exhausted before my interview date. Now, my visa is about to expire, and I plan to return home to renew it.

  1. Could filing the I-485 affect my chances of getting my visa renewed?
  2. Based on your experience, have people successfully renewed their visas after filing an I-485?
Thank you for your assistance.

In general, you do not need to submit documentation relating to traffic fines and incidents that did not involve an
actual physical arrest if the penalty was only a fine of less than $500 or resulted in points on your driver’s license.
However, you must submit such documentation if the traffic incident resulted in criminal charges or involved alcohol,
drugs, or injury to a person or property

Not necessary, the citations are below $500.

The demonstrated immigrant intent could possibly lead to a NIV application denial.

I am expecting to file i485 based on DV lottery soon. I don't know when my case will be current but if it happens sometime during upcoming summer, I am confused about my address situation. I am expecting to move temporarily for summer internship and then move back to my original address. Should I file AR-11 for that 3 months and then again after I move back to original address or just let it be? Can someone help me navigate this? I might have someone trusted to check my mails in original address though if that makes any difference

If you're still on a lease, don't change your driver license and don't update your mailing address (e.g. with USPS) then I believe you should be fine

There’s no need to file an AR-11 if the move is a temporary one and you’ll be returning to the same address. Use the original address for your AOS filing so as to not needlessly complicate the process for yourself.

Thank you, but will they be able to see the amount somehow? I have nothing to show them related to the citation fees, and still I mentioned them in my I485 form. I thought they may ask for a supporting document showing that they're really below $500.

Oh, I see. Thank you! I thought I have to submit a documentation showing that the fees I mentioned in I485 are accurate, and below $500.

Do you think that these citations may affect my AOS application as a derivative applicant?

They clearly state what they're interested in: DUI or other felony
So if I were you I wouldn't mention your minor fines in application, but would be ready to explain if specifically asked
That's purely my opinion

Over analyzing. If you're reporting the citations along the line of what is on the sample pre-filled I-485, you will be fine. Highly recommend against NOT mentioning the "minor fines".

Hi mom and all,

Quick question. We are waiting for our interview that has been scheduled (will add all of the data to the sheet shortly), and we just learned that we will need to move before the interview. What complications with our case would moving out of state create at this point?
Can you add info in spreadsheet please

Hi everyone! I'm looking for a lawyer to help with the diversity visa application for my fiance's case which is complicated. Can anyone recommend lawyers who have experience with DV lottery AOS? I would really appreciate any help

Very few lawyers have much experience with DV AOS cases, given that there are typically only around 1000 a year across the whole country and most of those are done DIY. If you feel comfortable sharing what some of the complications are, you might get some useful information here (including whether or not to look for a lawyer after all depending on the exact issues).

Hi everyone!
Please tell me what to do. I sent 2 forms I-485 for me and my son, in response received 2 SMS with the numbers of receipts for each. After some time, I received a letter I-797C that they received my form in which my alien's number was indicated. After some time, a second letter came with the assigned date of delivery of biometrics, but again only on me. The last letter came a week ago, the date of biometrics was scheduled for the next week. But there is not a single letter to my son. I am registered on my.uscis, but there is only information that the cases have been received. How to get a letter to a son about a call for biometrics?
