DV 2024 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

Thank you for your support and your messages.

P.s.
"""Your package definitely isn’t lost if you were updated on it yesterday."""
This system automatically updates every day at 8 pm this message "In Transit to Next Facility, Arriving Late". (the same thing was displayed on February 5 and February 6)
So... the last time my package was scanned February 4, 2024, 2:58 am "Arrived at USPS Regional Facility. CHICAGO IL DISTRIBUTION CENTER".
That's why I'm worried. Mail usually passes through distribution centers in a couple of hours (max 1 day). But my package stuck in this distribution center!
My feeling now: they forgot my parcel somewhere in the warehouse. And she is lonely, sad, lying somewhere in a dark corner of this insanely large warehouse, and she's scared, and I'm even more scared. :(
And I live in hope that some employee of this warehouse found her, and said: “What are you doing here, PRIORITY MAIL! You should already be in the USCIS Lockbox. Quickly get into the car - I’ll take you to your destination point!”

Like you see, day by day- I'm losing my mind
Not my experience from sending in my GC bundle, but recently I’ve been clearing my wardrobe and selling things via Poshmark, who use USPS for shipping.
In tracking about ten parcels over the past two months, not one has arrived by the initial delivery estimate. Three have sat in distribution centers for over two weeks with no progress. Zero have been lost; whilst slow, they’ve all ultimately found the intended recipient (albeit late.)

I know this doesn’t help you with the delays, but in my experience USPS is very slow at the moment but not loosing things.

Hello! My husband holds an H4 visa, and he lacks bank statements, pay slips, or W2 forms. The only document we have jointly is a tax return transcript with his name on it. I possess bank statements, pay slips, and W2 forms in my folder for the Adjustment of Status (AOS) package. Could you please advise if these documents are sufficient, or what additional steps we need to take? Thank you for your guidance.

Your financial documents will cover your husband, even if he is the main DV selectee.

Quick question, I would like to know as an F1 student on OPT currently, once I submit my AOS package, and it is accepted, does that invalidate my F1 status? As you may know
Opt comes with work conditions and grace periods to find a job, I have a 90 days grace period to find a job or I will be out status, while I am still within the grace period, I’m just curious whether submitting my I-485 automatically removes all those opt conditions and now I am in pending status with AOS

No, it does not.

I won the DV lottery. I am with my husband and child under the U2U program, we have been using EBT and Medicare for about a year, but now we no longer use it. I don't work, my husband does. I won the lottery, but only my husband has income. 1) Is there a chance that we will be approved if we have used help for so long? 2) What is the likelihood of approval if I don’t work, my husband does? His income is 85,000 a year, which is enough for us for now. Thank you very much .

1. I can’t make a determination on that. The IO assigned to your case will make a decision based on what is known as totality of your circumstances.
2. Your husband’s income will be applied to both of you.

Hello everyone and @Sm1smom
I have a little strange question:

Lockbox Chicago. Is it possible to deliver the documents yourself? (without using a delivery service)

Hey everyone guys!
I sent the package to USCIS Lockbox Chicago (02/03/2024 by USPS - Priority Mail!!!).
My parcel has already been on its way there for the 6th day... (today is 02/08/2024)
Now it has been stuck in the "CHICAGO IL DISTRIBUTION CENTER" for the 4th day. (every day it is updated at 8 pm "Moving Through Network"). Between this center and Lockbox ~3 miles.
Of course, I'm worried. It’s not funny anymore for me!
Bad thoughts are already creeping into my head :'\

Advice - you need to be patient - ok, no problem, I basically have no other choice. But maybe someone can tell me the USPS delivery time based on their cases.
How quickly did your packages pass through this "Chicago Distribution Center"? Has anyone experienced the same problems?

UPDATE!

I write for people who might be in the same situation.
Today (Monday 02/12/2024) received SMS from USCIS (applied g-1145 in my case).
This morning I went to my Bank (payment was made by Cashier’s Check) - the check was cashed on Friday (02/09/2024).
So, I conclude that USPS delivered mail to USCIS in period from 02/04/2024 to 02/09/2024.
The exact delivery date in Lockbox cannot be set - USPS Tracking number website shows the latest scans of my parcel 02/04/2024 in Distribution Center. Further up to 02/08/2024, every day there were updates "In Transit to Next Facility, Arriving Late", after that day - tracking number generally stopped updating at all (today still be in delivery process...)

Honestly, I already thought that USPS had lost my package. But I'm very glad that this didn't happen! :)

See, your case got processed even faster than mine lol.

I sent mine 2 weeks ago but still got no receipt

Wait a little bit (I saw in the timeline tables for previous years that some applications took about a month to be processed).

Did You apply g-1145?

Thank you so much for posting this message.

I just realised they messaged me the receipt on February 5th but it got absolutely lost in my messages. I was mainly checking email

I'm very glad to hear such news! :)
Now we continue moving forward to our main goal!
Just checked the case online. It says “Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case. We mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case.”

Is this the notification that you get and now I wait for the future notices? I also didn’t get anything on my email.

Yes. My is same:
"Our National Benefits Center location
is working on your case"

please don't mix up "E-mail" and "mail".
Email - by Internet.
Mail - paper from postal service. (USCIS sends it via USPS)
Just check you mailbox (mailing address, what you indicate in application i-485 [or i-131 and i-765 if applicable]).
Also everyone recommends to set up *USPS Informed Delivery*

Yes! This ‘mail’, not email seems to take 2-4 weeks to arrive in the mailbox after the text message. I am waiting for mine too! Which lockbox is yours?
