DV 2024 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

Hello! thank you for your help!
we sent 485 forms per family. Wife, a child and a husband. My wife received a return of the AOS package due to the lack of a signature. the package contained form 797C with an explanation of what to do next. what about packages for child and husband?
I checked their Money Order. money is cashed. does this mean their AOC package has been accepted?
Will they also receive forms 797C for mail?
Husband and child’s packages have been accepted and are being processed accordingly. The NOA for those should be received soon.

If my AOC package was returned due to a missing signature, should I print and fill out a new Form 485 or should I sign the one that was returned to me?
Sign the returned form and send it back.

Sign the returned form and send it back.
Just to confirm, there is only one place to sign in the form on page 17 section 6a. (for both kids and adult forms). This is assuming there was no interpreter or preparer involved. Also, do i need to sign and date stamp in Part 14 of page 20? or the signing and date stamping is only for extra printed sheet?
Appreciate your feedback.

Yes. No.

AFAIK, there's no requirement to submit a property evaluation report based on whatever range of household assets an applicant is claiming on the I-485. Same thing as the household liabilities - or do you plan on submitting documents in support of your liabilities too? (I'm assuming you have some liabilities equally reflected on the I-485). Plus if you plan on submitting the property evaluation report, is it a net value appraisal and are you going to include evidence of amount of loan used in securing the mortgage, trust deeds, or any other liens that may be on the house? This is why you want to be careful and ensure you're not unintentionally opening any Pandora box in the process of trying to get your case adjudicated.

Yes, there have been cases that got approved without an I-134, and there have been some cases where it was requested. If you're able to get an I-134 provided by a sponsor, get one (even if you keep and use it as a back-up financial document only when required). The AOS Process spreadsheet has adequate information on how to demonstrate one is not likely to become a public charge.
Thank you for this message. I think I will go with I-134 route.

Although I have no mortrage or anything on the apartment, it was a gift from a family member.

I wanted to ask a question about liabilities on I485. I don't think I have any, but stuff like gym membership or paying for rent technically falls under liabilities if I understand correctly. Should I put 1-10000$ option then?

Hi Mom et all,

I have submitted my bundle and am very grateful for all of your assistance in this matter. This resource has been utterly incredible.

While I await the next stages, I wanted to ask a question that is causing me a lot of anxiety at the moment (to the point that I have been seeking therapy!) and I feel that I might as well get the facts straight so that I can best plan for worst case scenario.
I am currently in the US on a H1B, but my company is performing poorly at the moment and my head is running to the worst case scenario of redundancy before GC is in hand.
If this were to happen, I understand that I have a 60 day grace period. Say in a worst case scenario if I were to be made redundant and additionally unable to obtain a new sponsor prior to GC approval; would my AOS become invalid?
Secondly, I suspect the back-up here would be to file for an L2 visa immediately based upon my husband being on an L1 visa. Would this cause issues to the AOS application due to my status at the time changing? His employment based GC application is in process but we believe still in the PERM phase.

Many thanks. I'm a worrier at the best of times and I'm sure that you understand this is a particularly anxious time.

I honestly can't help you decide on what to put down. You should select the option that truly reflects your liabilities in your own opinion.

1. Falling out of your current status will not, on it's own, negatively impact your pending AOS application as you will be in a period of authorized stay pending AOS adjudication or the end of your applicable FY (whichever comes first).
2. See response 1 above.

This is a relief of news; thank you for helping take a weight off. I was scared to ask in case the prospect was bad and I spiraled deeper, but knowledge is power!

I wanted to ask about I-134

I know that the sponsor can eventually withdraw the form later on. Does it in anyhow undermine the greencard if after a couple years the sponsor withdraws the form?

Hello @Sm1smom
Thanks a lot for this forum!
My question is so simple that it seems like I'm starting to get paranoid.
If we will apply *Form i-131* and *Form i-765* in addition to *Form i-485* in ONE ENVELOPE together (to send it to Lockbox):
The question:
Do we need to do extra copy our documents for this additional forms? (like: i-94, passport copy, etc..)

P.s. I check this forum and "AOS Process Spreadsheet". Find information only about extra photos. And I was just confused by the fact that i-485 considers FO, and additional forms - NBC.
Of course, I understand that if it were necessary to attach additional copies, this would be clearly stated here on the forum and in spreadsheet, but I want to get a simple, clear answer so that soothe the s
oul. :)

Hello Mom, Thank you for your help. I have a question. The last statue change is 28 days ago "the fingerprints fee was received " but I didn't get the biometric appointment. In my understanding the appointment notices arrive usually 2 to 3 weeks from the (NOA). Should I be worried or this is normal? And if there anything I can do to speed the process.
Thank you again for your help

Where did you get this information from that a sponsor can withdraw the I-134 after the GC has been issued?

Each form is expected to be accompanied by it's own set of applicable supporting documents and photos. The I-485, I-131, and I-765 are all separate applications, they get treated separately, each one should therefore be submitted with the applicable supporting documents.

Are you listed on the Timeline spreadsheet, as I cannot seem to locate your case? The only way for me to get a better insight into your case and possibly hazard a guess as to what could be going on is if the case is on the Timeline spreadsheet.

In the spreadsheet there is only until 2023 Timeline, where I can find the timeline for 2024? Sorry for my ignorance
