DV 2024 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

Hello, mom. I'm planning to send my AOS package this week. However, because I'll be moving to another state next month, but my DS-260 and payment receipts both have my current address, so I'm unsure whether to send the package directly to the USCIS center near my new address or to the USCIS center in my current location and then request an address change for my interview and Biometrics. Meanwhile, I'm not even sure if I can modify my address online.

Don’t create unnecessary complications for your case. My recommendation is to wait until after you move next month before sending in your AOS package since the address listed on the I-485 is what the USCIS will use in determining your applicable FO.

Hello,
Could someone recommend any reliable place to translate my birth certificate. Is there a website or something? I would appreciate your help thank you

Hi there!
Which of the assumptions below is correct?

-Do I need to file the AOS I-485 on behalf of my spouse when my CN becomes current (only one I-485)
-Does the spouse have to do this themselves (at the same time as me, but separate I-485)
-Can the spouse file I-485 only after I receive the green card?

Separate individual derivative submit their own I-485 form, but it should be sent together as one application package

Hi @Sm1smom :) I hope you are well!
I had a few other questions if you can look into it I would love it. Thank you so much!!

1-I am on asylum pending currently, I am still gonna try dv lottery, hoping they would accept it. I am adding I-797, should I also add my original asylum application I-589 with it or do you think I-797 is enough?

2- For 2NL, I wanted to make sure is this the email we are talking about for 2NL from KCC right?

'Thank you for informing us that you plan to apply for adjustment of status with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration
Services (USCIS).
Before you apply, you should know there are some restrictions on who qualifies for adjustment of status in the United
States. '

1&2. Is your spouse currently in the US? If the answer to this question is YES", and the intention is for them to benefit as your derivative, then yes, a separate I-485 with the applicable payment should be filed with yours.
3. Again, is the spouse currently in the US? If YES, is your spouse on a dependent status or they have their own independent status? Yes, they can certainly apply for their own GC after you receive yours, - that would require you sponsor them for their own GC by filing a family petition for them - this option will cost you a lot more in terms of resources and time - so why you would want to go through that route if they can easily obtain their GC with you for less the amount of money and time?

1. The I-589 is irrelevant.
2. Yes.

Hi mom,

Thank you for your response. I have another quick question. When submitting the AOS package, should the photos inside be the ones I uploaded during the Diversity Visa application, or do I need to take a new one with my most recent picture?

The photos must have a white tooff-white background, be printed on thin paper with a glossy finish, and be unmounted and unretouched. The two recent identical color passport-style photos must be 2 by 2 inches. The photos must be in color with full face, frontal view on a white to off-white background. Head height should measure 1 to 1 3/8 inches from top of hair tobottom of chin, and eye height is between 1 1/8 to 1 3/8 inches from bottom of photo. Your head must be bare unlessyou are wearing headwear as required by a religious denomination of which you are a member. Using a pencil or feltpen, lightly print your name and A-Number (if any) on the back of the photo. Hello!
Our family (3 people) winners of DV2024
We are now in the USA, according to U4U

1. We want to pay $330 for each. We have an address. Tell me, what should I put in the envelope besides the Money Order and the name of the main applicant and number?
2. Then we need to start filling out Form 485? Tell me what are the next steps. Thanks everyone!

You should start by going through this link - that is the AOS Process Spreadsheet, it has the answers to your above two questions and several others.

Greetings, I am the lucky winner of dv2024, CN EU16xxx. I'm considering the Los Angeles area to do AOS. What do you think about the Los Angeles field office? Do you have any recommendations for different regions for AOS? Example; miami, boston, new jersey, houston etc
Thanks

Your home address determines your applicable FO. I don’t provide recommendations or guidance on FO hopping or shopping on the basis of trying to find the “best FO” as this is an attempt at circumventing the normal immigration process which is frowned upon, it could be deemed as immigration fraud. Taking a look at some of the past Timelines spreadsheets will give you an idea of how your applicable FO has performed in the past.

Hey mom, I wonder if you know. My student visa recently expired, but I am still studying, legal, and in F-1 status via my I-20. Do I need to go out of the US to renew my visa before I submit my document package or is my I-20 enough?

Thank you.
