DV 2024 All Selectees (Consular Processing - CP)

Hi, how long the police certificate valids? In my country, the actual certificate is only valid for 3 months. Does this mean we should careful to get it close to the interview time?
Two years. However if it is for a country where you’re currently residing, be sure to not get it too early, wait for as close as possible to your interview date before obtaining it.

Thanks. Yes it's the country I'm residing. So it should be valid till the interview that's what you mean?

Wait until it is close to your interview date before applying for the police certificate from the country where you’re currently residing in.

p.s. I moved your posts from the DV2025 thread to the current 2024 thread where it belongs.

Thank you so much for clarifying. Sorry I'm not DV2024, I just submitted entry for DV2025.

So this is precisely why we keep telling folks to wait until they’ve actually been selected before asking questions about the process. The response provided to your question could end up being no longer applicable in a year’s time due to processing changes/updates that could be implemented. Your initial post (with the initial question) came across as if you’re a current selectee which is the reason the posts got moved to the 2024 thread.

I got your point, thanks again. I just want to clear my mind even I will not be selected I thought it's useful for the next DV. So I will not be asking any more questions.

I just received my 2nl, interview is in January, EU7XXX, should I go on and book my flight and stay or is there a chance it will be rescheduled?

I just wanted to thank everyone who helped me through the process, especially Sm1smom. I'm currently back in the US with my DV1 visa. Now I just need to wait for my green card (which could take a few weeks). I appreciate the help, and I hope everyone's process goes smoothly.

That's great. Congratulations and thanks for the update.

"Hi, my high school diploma is currently at the university as still I'm studing, and I don't have it physically with me. Can I attend the interview without presenting the real diploma?"

There’s an expectation for you to attend your interview with the original copy of your Diploma.

hi @Sm1smom ,
I have a question regarding eligible sponsors. If the sponsor is a retired person in the US, will that be an issue for him to sponsor/ or does he qualify to sponsor?

Thank you.

It depends on how the sponsor will show they meet the financial requirements to be a sponsor.
