DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Hi Mom,

I am assembling my I-485 package and planned to use small sticky tabs in the bottom part. However, I saw 11/16/2022 USCIS’ announcement recommending not using this kind of stuff:

However according to “tips for filing for mails”, it’s OK to use them if the delivery location is a lockbox.

The problem is, most of the supporting documents are a few pages like passport pages, marriage certificate. I am confused about this recommendations. Should we use sticky tabs or not?
Yes, you can use small sticky tabs placed at the bottom of the documents.

Mom, I am sorry if I am bombarding you with many questions, but I am now thinking of any possible scenario I can do. I was reading about CP administrative processing and I saw that they tend to be faster than AOS processing. I was thinking if I switch to CP, could it help the AP process to be faster?

I have to disagree with that assumption. Clearing CP based AP is not necessarily faster than AOS based AP - the same organization(s) are responsible for conducting the back checks/additional background checks as needed. Reasons for being put in AP differs from person to person.

You can go ahead and switch to CP if you like at this point, and that is assuming KCC has not yet forwarded your KCC file to your FO because once that is done, KCC will not schedule a CP interview. You’ll need to work directly with the embassy to get your KCC file transferred from your FO to them and subsequently scheduled for an interview.

I got a letter with the interview date. On things to bring, it mentions medical form sealed. I had submitted the original sealed medicals with my i-485 package. Do you suggest I go for another medical or take the copy? Please let me know

No you do not need to get a new sealed medical report. Sounds like you got a generic IL. Just have the copy of the submitted medical report with you.

Hi mom,
1.I sent two money others for my dependents and I on 3th March, still no mail received from KCC. I check my tracking number, It is said label is created but not sent back to me. How long it will takes time to receive any mail from KCC?
2. My case number is AS8xxx. still waiting to become current, considering the new update for medical report about USCIS Removes 60-Day Rule for Civil Surgeon Signatures on Form I-693, do you advise me to provide medical reports now?

Thank you
for me, it took about 4 months to receive for half of my family then the other half came 2 months after. im also based in Asia from iraq. i wish you the best of luck.

Hello, if you don't mind, sorry for so many questions.

Im in AS21XX, has not become current. do you recommend i wait on the medical exams or not? also where can i find the update regarding the new medical announcement?

Hello, I amended my tax return. But my IRS return transcript that I accessed through their official website shows form number 1040-NR only for 2022 tax returns and form number 1040 for 2021 and 2020. Is it normal? Will it affect my filing as I also need to attach my tax return for the last three years with the AOS package?

Yeah, I knew that was a waste of a question, but figured WTH.

I have submitted a congressional request for help. We'll see if that amounts to anything.
I see on the spreadsheet you just got an interview @heatherc_42. Was the congressional inquiry made/helpful?

@Sm1smom after how much time without an update do you recommend reaching out via a congressional inquiry?

Hi Mom,

We received our interview notices two weeks ago in the mail. A couple of days later my husband's status was changed to ''Duplicate notice was mailed''. Have you ever heard about this before? Can we ignore it?
Thank you!

If you needed to amend your previous tax filings and you’ve already done so, I don’t see what the issue is. Include the tax transcripts you have with your AOS package.

There’s no basic minimum/maximum number of days to wait before initiating a congressional inquiry. The “when” is case and FO dependent.

Nothing to worry about. Just focus on preparing for and attending your interview.

HI Mom,

I called USCIS to modify the date of birth for my child on the I-797 form. Additionally, I modified the date of birth when we did the biometrics. I received an email from USCIS asking me to send a written request to the field office and explain the issue regarding the date of birth. Should I wait until the interview date and ask the field officer to modify it, or should I send the request right now?

I previously asked you if the error was traceable to you (your son's submitted form I-485) or directly from USCIS, you never bothered to answer. I'm sorry I cannot continue to address the same issue if you cannot do me the courtesy of responding to the questions I ask for clarification purpose.

I really do not know. I have two soft copies of Form I-485 on my computer. One shows the wrong date of birth, and the other one is the correct one. I do not remember which one I sent. The wrong date of birth belongs to the other child. So I am not sure if it is my mistake or USCIS's

Does the DOB on the NOA match with the softcopy of the I-485 with the wrong DOB?
