DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

@DILUAE
Thank You for the response, Mom.
1- My FO is San. Antonio TX. I have corrected the timeline sheet.
2- I've asked case status Emma (Now I realized its wrong)
3-I did not speak with a live agent. is there any lockdown period with this mode as well?
4-Case status shows "Finger Print Fee was received. NBC location is working on the case. we mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case".

The last thing I received from USCIS was the NOC.
Is my case unusually delayed?

Regards,
DG

Judging by DV2022 trend, bio notice or waiver seems to be late. So this is why you need to specially ask on the Emma chat if your bio has been scheduled or not (don't ask about case update) - knowing the answer to this will enable you determine if the correspondence got sent and is now lost in transit or something. I recommend you do whatever you can to get connected with a live agent to chat with on Emma. Also when you call the USCIS 1800 number, just keep saying INFOPASS to the automated system until you get connected to a live agent. Then ask the person if your bio as been scheduled or not.

For DV2022 selectees, San Antonio actually waived the interview, so maybe this is something you may look forward to, fingers crossed on that. Your displayed case status is normal, there's usually no update on case status until after it has been adjudicated (approved or denied) - this information is listed on the AOS Process Spreadsheet.
Any update on your bio follow-up attempts?

@Sm1smom Dear, Mom. The last update on my case were 141 days ago “Fingerprints were taken“. I spoke with Emma couple of times by now and my case is currently under review at my local FO in Los Angeles, CA. From what I see on the previous years LA office is very slow and I was patiently waiting , but started to worry at this point. My question is do I have to reach to a congressman inquiry at this point? Also I want to mention that I was in removal proceedings for years based on asylum case. I reached out to Department of Homeland Security and proceedings are now terminated. USCIS has a jurisdiction over my application. I have valid TPS status. I called to USCIS requesting an info pass to bring a termination letter to the office (since it wasn’t available on the time I filled AOS application) and IO explained that there is no need for that and I should wait on the interview call. Another month went by. Should I contact a congressman at this point or just continue to wait? My case were current in October and filled in November . Thanks

You can initiate a congressional case follow-up inquiry/assistance at this point.

Glad to know you finally got an update on the bio appointment.

There is someone on the spreadsheet with the username SKH (could not find him/her on the forum). His/her interview was waived recently and I wondered his/her field office.

SKH, if you read this message, can you please provide us with your exact field office?
Sm1smom, thank you for following up and adding notes to the spreadsheet. I am happy to learn another interview waived by the Dallas FO. Fingers crossed.

S1mom,
Thanks for your response to previous post.
Could you help clarify this for me , the USCIS requires that an applicant file I-485 within 60 days of the cs signature on I-693 (waived till 31 Mar 2023)
at the same time it says the I-693 is valid for 2 yrs after CS signature.
so should one file I-485 after say 62 days is the I-693 no more valid when USCIS says it is valid for 2 yrs

The medical form is considered valid for 2 years if received within 60 days of the CS's signature effective Apr. 1st 2023 (unless the current waiver gets extended) - which means the medical report needs to be filed and accepted by the Lockbox within 60 days of being signed and dated effective Apr. 1st. The form will not be accepted if the CS's signature on it is older than 60 days, not even by one day, if the form is not accepted, it means it is not valid.

hello, i paid the 330 for my 5 family members but i recived a recipt for only 3 of them. i sent the entire some money via money order. why did they do this?

I assume you have used more than one money order. Did they all get cashed? If so, email them and ask for receipts for the rest.

Seems to me like that OP can’t keep track of what they’re doing or is unable to get their act together, I’ll therefore recommend you save your time/energy and spend it helping others with genuine issues. There’s nothing to email KCC about. I saw OP’s post and purposely decided to ignore it as this same issue was addressed barely one month ago when the OP claimed he paid for “6” family members and KCC sent back a receipt for two people which he posted in the forum (I actually deleted the receipt as it contained all of their personal details), following which I pointed out to the OP it was the same form he used in making the payment of $660 for 2 people which KCC basically stamped and sent back to them. Following my response, OP later admitted discovering another email with a second receipt from KCC (which they had forgotten about) with 3 other people listed on it. And now, this new ridiculous accusatory post about KCC having done something wrong.

Hi Mom, my son had his biometrics on 10th Mar, yesterday he received a RFE letter from USCIS stating that his SEVIS records says he has fallen out. Looks like when he got a job in Atlanta in Jan, he did not update the status. Is this fixable? Appreciate your input please....

I’m sorry I’m unable to provide any input on this outside of stating your son needs to work with his school’s DSO to figure out if there’s any option for fixing this issue. My guidance on this platform is limited to DV based processing.

Added to "ignore" list!

Hi mom, I will be sending my application on Friday. Re-confirming the following info before sending it out.
a) For Connecticut, lockbox is USCIS Chicago Lockbox ?
b) Three Cashier's Check of 1225-self , 1225-spouse and 750-6 year old, including biometrics fee.
c) Not sending I-131 and I-765. I'm on L2 , can continue to work until my AOS is complete?

Hi, @Sm1smom.

Sorry for silly question but,

should I provide entire all pages bank statement with all transactions or only first page with account summary (total deposit and withdrawal)?

Hi, @Sm1smom!

We use the sample i-485 to fill our forms, but some things are unclear (perhaps we overthink them). Sorry for so many questions.

Generic questions w.r.t. i-485:
  1. Employment History: Do I put my employer's data as it appears in my W2? W2 has a different address than my actual office address.
  2. What should I put in Section 14 for add'l information on my employment history for the "Item Number"? Same question for various organizations in Part 8.
  3. My parents (well, I am also) were born in USSR (in the part of it that's Russia now). Should I put USSR or Russia?
  4. Similarly, my partner's parents were born in USSR but in a region that is an independent country right now. Should it be USSR or the country's name today?
My wife's i-485 questions (she is the winner):
  1. Should we fill in the A-number at the top of each page?

My i-485 questions (I am a derivative applicant).
  1. Part 1, Q9 Nationality — I have two citizenships. Should I put both or one I used to enter the US?
  2. Part 1, Q16: issue a new SSN card. Is it okay to mark "Yes" here? Is my understanding correct that I can mark "Yes" to get the new card automatically? Alternatively, I can mark "No" and then request a new one myself, right?
  3. Part 1, Q22: My visa number is M<7 digits>. Is the letter M also a part of the "nonimmigrant visa number"?
  4. Part 1, Q25.a: I am a J1 Ph.D. student. My i94 states -- "Class of Admission: J1".
  5. Similarly, Q26.c -> J1? Why is the answer in sample i-485 N/A?
  6. Part 2, Q3 to Q9 (Information About Your Immigrant Category). I am a bit confused here. Are those questions applicable to DV lottery winners?
  7. Part 6, Q11. My youngest child is a US citizen. As I understand, I should mark "No" here, right?
  8. Part 8, Q15. We planned to apply for visa renewal (our J1 visa expired last year). We paid the fees and scheduled the interviews but did not go because we got sick with covid. Once we recovered, we couldn't go due to a combination of long quarantine requirements in our home country, missing kids' school, our research work, etc. Does it count as a denial?
  9. Part 8. Does Q51.a apply to military personnel in general? I mean, the army (in general) damages individuals and property during war or special operations.
  10. Part 8 Q54. I served in mandatory military service in my country. My service was simple: no active combat or anything. Still, at the time of my service, some units of the army (e.g., special ops) were involved in very active things abroad (well, the military never acknowledged it, but independent news outlets did some reports). Should I answer yes or no?
  11. Part 8. Q65 We don't have any loans/mortgages/etc. We use credit cards that we pay in full every month. So, we put 0 in liabilities?

Our child i-485
  1. Part 1, Q14 — my oldest has ITIN. For tax purposes, it is used as SSN. Should we specify it here, or since it is not precisely an SSN, we skip it?
  2. Part 2, Q3 to Q9 (Information About Your Immigrant Category) -- does the same answer apply here?
  3. Part 8, Q61: Does it apply to kids? Mark as "Yes"?
  4. Part 8, Q62: Size of the household — same as for the parents?
  5. Part 8, Q63-64 - same as for the parents?
  6. Part 8, Q66: The child is currently in 2nd grade. Should I mark "Grades 1 — 11" or skip the question?
  7. Part 8, Q67: none?
  8. Part 10: How do I fill it? In my child's name? In my name?
Questions about certified translations.
1. My diplomas have both english and my country's language. The left half of the page is in English, the right is in my country's language. We still have to translate it?
2. My child's birth certificate is also in both languages. Same question -- should it be translated?

Thank you for being so helpful!
