DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Please go through the AOS Process Spreadsheet where everything has been explained. If your CN falls below the cutoff number in the VB, it means the number is current for the month it shows under. If the VB does not show a cutoff number but shows CURRENT for a region, that also means your CN (all the CNs) are current from that period.
mom i went through it, i still having hard time understanding. am worried if i send my package and it gets returned becuase my number isnt up. if asia stays at 18750 and goes current and my number is in the 21000 then woulsnt it be denied...

Goodness, how else do I explain this?

If the AS region shows 'CURRENT' on the VB as against listing a cut-off number, it means ALL the numbers in the AS region are current (assuming the except countries are no longer restricted at that point also). So regardless of what your CN is, it means it has become current and you can file.

Hi all!
I won a green card; my number will be valid in April. I filled out Form DS-260 and sent a check for $330 to the department of state. I have been waiting almost a month for the receipt and KCC has not sent me the 2NL either. I sent them an email, and they replied me the following: "Thank you for your request. Please direct your inquiry to Citizenship and Immigration”
I have heard that contacting USCIS is very difficult, and I don't know exactly what I should ask them. Could you give me some advice, please? I am going to send all my documentation next week to Chicago. I have all the documentation ready except the receipt from the department of state and Form 2NL.

We finally received our green cards this morning. @Sm1smom @SusieQQQ I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all of your wonderful help and support throughout this process. I wish everyone still in the process the best and may everyone receive their green cards before the end of the DV year!!!
Congratulations and thanks for the update.

USCIS has nothing to do with the administrative payment receipt, it comes from KCC. It is not unusual for them to send you the response you received.
1. Did you include the SASE with your payment?
2. Have you checked to confirm the payment has been processed/cashed?

Could you please explain what SASE means as well as how I can check if they cashed the money?

I guess, I don’t need to call to USCIS, right?

SASE - Self Addressed Stamped Envelope - this is what KCC uses for sending back the receipt.
If you used cashier’s check, you contact your bank to see if it has been cashed. If you used money order, you use the number on it to check online if it has been cashed.

I just called to the chase bank and they told me that they haven’t cashed my money yet. Very busy I think :( I’m gonna send my paperwork without the receipt and 2NL form next week. I just want to say that if you are in process of getting your green card, fill out your ds-260 as soon as possible as well as send money to the department of state asap.

Hey Sm1smom,

I received my NOA & a scheduled date for my bio in 2 week. I have not submitted my DS-260 and am still to receive my dv payment fee receipt. However today I received an email from KCCDV with my case number and an adjustment letter attached. Is that considered my 2NL? Can I also assume that the payment has been accepted & I am to expect my receipt in the mail?

Thanks!

Yes, and yes.

If you included the SASE with your payment KCC will eventually send the receipt. It’s not usual for it to take anywhere between 20 to over 90 days before it gets sent - you’ll see this if you take a look at the Timeline spreadsheet. It also isn’t usual for them to send unhelpful responses back to emails asking about the receipt like they did to you. What they sent you is a template response.
Hello, it’s been more than 3 weeks after they cashed the money order and more than 4 weeks after I sent the mail and I didn’t receive the receipt yet , I contacted with them and they keep saying same things every time, do you know what i have to do?

Today, I finally got the update from the USCIS. However, it is the RFE asking me to provide all the I20s (which I did at the interview), enrollment verification, grade report, and so on. I am working on it but at the same time, I feel confused and frustrated since even the one I presented at the interview is the most up-to-date when I submit the AOS package. Even the RFE letter itself ask for the evidence until the date I filed my i485. Just reminding all the F1 students please have your record up to date. Don't just bring the one you sent out in the package.

Nothing else you can do outside of being patient and sending a fresh email every couple of days requesting they email you a copy of the payment receipt.

Thanks for the update.

If you had gone to your interview prepared with evidence of most recent transcripts and enrollment verification (you confirmed yourself you included the information you printed out last summer with your AOS package) - (this is covered on the “Interview Tips” tab of the AOS Process Spreadsheet by the way), you wouldn’t have been issued with the RFE. Anyway, just respond to the RFE and keep your fingers crossed.

We received the green card yesterday for my spouse and I. Of course, the first thing I had to check was to make sure that all the details are correct and fortunately all details were spot on! thank you all especially Sm1smom, for the forum and guidance. I will still be on the platform till the end of the fiscal year. Hang in there everyone.

Dear Mom,

I sent the DV payment with SASE 3 weeks back and today i got the package from KCC with the same letter i sent but with the stamp “PAID”. Is this the receipt letter or do i get the receipt letter separate.

Thank you
