You can always request an infopass for anything, there’s no guarantee it will be approved.so I got a reply from my congressman that even though I change my address in January. The interview notice was still sent out to my old one and I'm really stressed. I call them and they say they will have tier 2 officer call me back and submit the interview rescheduling request next time. Can I just ask for an info pass to explain my mess? (were scheduled on Feb 26 at NY FO)
Ok I'll provide the background. I left the USA this January on Advance Parole and use the USCIS online tool to file a change of address to my friend's place. I kept calling USCIS for the entire February from London but was not surprised based on the limited info they have they can be wrong. I asked my congressman then last week since I realized people are getting interviewed at the new york field office and got the email reply today with the interview letter that I saw for the first time. (The address on it is my old address) So I call the 800 number again and got in queue for tier 2 officer and filled the e-request saying I didn't receive the notice, is there anything I can do at this moment? Will the lawyer help in this case? You can always request an infopass for anything, there’s no guarantee it will be approved.
Just so you know, providing a background explanation of what is going could help with receiving an appropriate response or further guidance regarding applicable actions you can take. I can’t quite figure out what your precise situation based on what you’ve written above.
Now I remember your case! I remember warning you about leaving for the study abroad program in the UK while your AOS application was pending when you asked about expediting your I-131. This situation is a classic example of why I often tell folks about the dangers of initiating a change of address after filing for AOS. USCIS’s systems are not interconnected, there’s no guarantee the folks responsible for processing the application will see the submitted change of address in a timely manner, hence correspondence gets sent to the old address (the address on the application itself).Ok I'll provide the background. An I-864 is not applicable to DV based AOS applications, so you can safely ignore that request (seems like your IL is a generic one). However, if the IO feels you’re likely to become a public charge, they may require you to demonstrate how you plan on overcoming that. So having an I-134 on hand as a backup financial document when you go in for your interview will be a good idea.Hello everyone Do I need to submit affidavit of support in the interview.?
I got interview scheduled letter today and found this in one point of required document
YOU MUST BRING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WITH YOU:-
-------
A complete Affidavit(s) of Support( form I- 864) with all required evidence, including the following , for each of your sponsers(unless already submitted)
---
I am currently F1 student and doing AOS, my interview is scheduled within 2 weeks.
Please let me know. @Sm1smom
1. Go through the AOS Process Spreadsheet as previously recommended back in Sept. 2022Hi all!
I am in the US on a student visa, and since my number will be valid in April, I have a couple of questions:
1. Can I send my documents only starting from April 1st or will the end of March also work? I am asking because I don't want to pay again for the I-485 form later.
2. Is there only one address in the U.S. for sending the documents?
Thank you! Appreciate your time!
Could be either method, more usually snail mail letter though. Is the interview notice a letter send via mail or email ?
thankyou so much for the reply. I didn't get the meaning of "public charge" , what it means? An I-864 is not applicable to DV based AOS applications, so you can safely ignore that request (seems like your IL is a generic one). Go through the Questions and Answers About Public Charge section of the below USCIS link:thankyou so much for the reply. I didn't get the meaning of "public charge" , what it means?
Hello, I’m wondering if i have to fill I-134 , I’m under e2 status and my gross income $80,0001. Only one person receives all the text or email notifications.
2. No impact to the pending AOS application.
Thanks a lot, Simon. I will hop on the plane and arrive by Monday. I have the congressman actively discuss with the NYFO my case and hopefully, that can stop the case rejection. I have one USCIS mail sent to my new address before the interview notice and after I changed my address. I hope that counts as proof since I can't find my AR-11. Will the tier 2 officer submit the reschedule interview request avoid the case rejection? Much appreciatedNow I remember your case! So it seems you left for London in January, and shortly after your IL got sent to your old address. Since it wasn’t returned as undeliverable to USCIS, and there’s no record of you requesting a reschedule prior to the date you were supposed to be interviewed, your IO would have marked you as a no show, which will subsequently lead to a case denial. I hope for your sake once you found out about missing the interview, you took the next available flight back to the US as your AP automatically becomes invalid once the AOS application gets denied. If you’re already back in the US, I suggest you pay an immediate visit to your FO, plead your case with the guards to allow you into the building. Then further plead with the IO you see (once they allow you into the building) and explain your situation - you’ll need to present proof of the change of address you initiated before leaving. Hiring a lawyer is a waste of money IMO, but you can hire one if you feel otherwise.
Best of luck!
That shouldn’t be necessary in this case.Hello, I’m wondering if i have to fill I-134 , I’m under e2 status and my gross income $80,000
