Nairobi sent an email for people scheduled for an interview that they should not do their medicals because visas are running out and they'll only waste money. What embassy “kindness” are you alluding to?
Yeah on embassies view it was "kindness". Just i wanna emphasize this word. Otherwise clearly there is no kindness.Nairobi sent an email for people scheduled for an interview that they should not do their medicals because visas are running out and they'll only waste money.

Yes, that is some form of kindness as it enables those CPer folks to not proceed with incurring additional expense on a hopeless situation. Considering for AOSers, the expense is already a sunk cost (applicable payments have already been made), I don’t see the “kindness”relationship between the two situations. I guess maybe you mean in terms of having to make the trip for an already scheduled interview.Yeah on embassies view it was "kindness". Just i wanna emphasize this word. Did you get that announcement as an SMS?My card was charged last night for the application fee, then this morning the announcement there are no more visas. Unfortunate that they can do this and not issue a refund. Is this standard practice?
No, I got the text saying my application was accepted at a similar time to the public announcement of no more visas being available.Did you get that announcement as an SMS?

Any update? My interview is tomorrow, I don’t know what will happen at this moment but I will let you all know for sure. We will see.
Yes, it is standard practice. The Lockbox folks responsible for processing the payment have no way of knowing if there are any visas left or not. Same thing with the folks responsible for scheduling the bio appointment, they also do not know anything about visa exhaustion. My card was charged last night for the application fee, then this morning the announcement there are no more visas. I had my dv aos interview on 1st September without a result. haven't heard back. Is there any hope for me?
Yesterday, we tried walk-in interview at Memphis FO. People were nice and let us in for the interview. After waiting for ~20 minutes, we were interviewed. Everything went smoothly. However towards the end, the IO said that the visa might already been exhausted, so there is no guarantee of the visa. He added that the decision will be made in some days and will give us a call by Monday. Finger-crossed.Yeah, you can give that a shot at this point as it seems like DV2023 might be over now unfortunately. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it seems the visa cap for DV2023 has been exceeded already and scheduled CP interviews are being canceled.
DV2023 visas exhausted
Sadly, it looks like the government are stopping all issuances for the DV2023 program. All the visas are issued, they have actually exceeded the cap by about the same as last year – it will b…britsimonsays.com
Does that mean that they haven’t reached the quota yet? I’m so confusedMy friend entered the DV adjustment of status interview today and they approved her green card and didn't say anything about quota.
Words and current status are different things. Let us inform about her status. It must be "New Card is Being Produced".My friend entered the DV adjustment of status interview today and they approved her green card and didn't say anything about quota.
Are you going by a verbal approval the IO gave your friend or does your friend’s online status show as either CPO (New Card is Being Produced) or Approval? My friend entered the DV adjustment of status interview today and they approved her green card and didn't say anything about quota.
