DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Hi, the Chicago lockbox received my application on August 25th (according to UPS) but I still haven't received any text or email acceptance from them. Is there any way to check the status or speed things up, or do I just have to wait?
I had the same issue. I chatted with a live agent via Emma. The agent gave me my receipt number and said that the NOA letter would be sent to my mailing address soon. You can try this, it might work for you too.

Hi @Sm1smom,

After approval of my case online, today I received I-797. The notice says I may be required to report for biometric processing. Please take a look at the notice and let me know about my situation. Is it normal to get this type of notice? Thank you!
Is your status "New Card is being produced" now?

Standard wordings.

Hello mom,

I just wanted to let you know that we had our interview today at SF FO and our IO was very nice, he asked me and my husband about our basic information to confirm that nothing changed, then some YES or NO questions from the I-485 form. He didn't ask for any original documents but even though we took everything with us. At the end of the interview he said that he will approve our case, that everything looked good but he just needed to do a background check and we should have news later today. After 2 hours, our status changed to "New card is being produced"! Thank you very much for your support and for all the information provided in this forum. Hope everybody who is still waiting receive good news soon!

Congratulations and thanks for the update.

Today (August 30) our cases have changed to "New Card Is Being Produced" as well in my.uscis.gov.
We have received the SSN cards today, issued on 08/31/2023. Strangely, they are (still) marked as "valid for work only with DHS authorization". Probably, an error of the SSA office.

I received my green card last week. I'd like to extend my gratitude to everyone who has helped me throughout this journey. A particular shoutout goes to @Sm1smom; her expertise, which likely surpasses that of most immigration attorneys, has been invaluable. Her willingness to assist us during this stressful and emotionally charged period, without asking for anything in return, has been an enormous source of comfort.

Hi @Sm1smom,
By tomorrow I will get the call from the Tier 2 agent but in the meantime I have also approached my Congressman. After a few days finally the person I spoke agreed to send an inquiry to the BNC and/or the FO for an update on my case given the limited time I have, but she told me that is the only thing they can do. They can't request an urgent process unless there is documentation to support it that shows significantly more urgent and unforeseeable circumstances than those of thousands of others waiting for their green cards.
I don't want to give up yet, might it be of some help at this point to contact my Senator and/or submit a DHS Form 7001, Request for Case Assistance online? Or might opening different inquiries on the contrary further complicate the situation?

All those steps are basically one form or the other of obtaining case status updates, they do not expedite the process. A senatorial case inquiry or assistance leads case updates same as that of a House of Rep’s. Anyway, you can initiate all of those steps if you want to feel like you’re doing something about your case.

Hi @Sm1smom,
I received a Form G-56. The date, time, and request for two documents are mentioned
1. Valid id
2. Evidence of current status

What kind of letter is this? What do you think might have happenned?

What does the form say? I’m sure it’s not a blank form with just those two documents listed on it. Also what is your current status?

It has mentioned my FO location, date and time of appointment, ask for "officer singleton", Reason for appointment "Diversity Visa", Bring with you: "Gov issued id, and evidence of current F1 status".

current "F1"

So that is your IL. When did you receive it and when is your appointment scheduled for?

Thank you for your reply.
So based on your experience, it is not a problem to open multiple inquiries with different subjects at the same time. My fear is just that flooding the National Benefit Center or the Field Office with my inquiries could be counterproductive.

In general, initiating multiple congressional case inquiries is frowned upon, as they're addressing the same issue - which I already tried to point out to you. As a matter of fact, some congressional person's office will ask you if you had initiated some other congressional case assistance before reaching out to them. As for the Ombudsman's office, the website will equally list out steps you ought to have completed before reaching out to them. The truth is I don't expect the Ombudsman's office will be initiating any case assistance on your behalf at this point, your case has not reached the threshold of where they like to come in (and they tend to take a while by the way).

How is it possible that my case has not reached the threshold of where they like to come in? It has been 2 months since without any update or communication regarding my biometrics appointment with only 24 days remaining until the end of the fiscal year.
