DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Hi, is it too late now to start the AOS process for 2023 (2023OC21XX)?
In terms of processing time, probably not too late. In terms of visa exhaustion, possibly too late.

Also if I did start the process now, is there any quicker way to get the $330 fee payment receipt? Or would I send in the documents without that?
1. None that I know of.
2. You could do that as long as you’re aware of the implications of doing that. So I recommend you go through the FAQ section of the AOS Process Spreadsheet first.

My interview was two days ago at the San Francisco Field Office.

Just Checked My Status:

On August 11, 2023, we approved your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number.

Thank you to Mom and everyone here for all the support. These months were very hectic and I'm glad it's finally coming to an end.

We had our interview this morning at the LA FO. We arrived 2hrs earlier expecting a long wait at security but the place was almost deserted. Took only a few minutes to get through.
Our IO was nice and very chill. He checked our ID, confirmed our address and place of birth, then ran through the typical yes/no questions. Didn't ask to see any of our original documents (birth and marriage certificates, education etc), even though we did have them with us. He said that our case was reasonably straight forward and that he didn't see any reason why it wouldn't be approved. Told us that he just had to run a few things through the system after we leave but to expect an update within a couple of weeks. Interview probably only lasted 10 mins.
I logged in to check our case an hour later and the status had changed to 'New card is being produced'. :)

Big thank you especially @Sm1smom, but also @Britsimon and @Xarthisius for offering their time and expertise, as well as providing all of these amazing resources......for free! I'm not sure how anyone could get through this process without them.

Don’t forget to keep updating the Timeline spreadsheet as you continue to cross the finish lines. Both currently pending and future AOSers will benefit from the information.

Hi @Sm1smom,

I noticed another case in the timeline sheet in the same Providence FO as mine. That case also has no update after biometrics (the case was filed one month later than mine, though). Do you think this could be the FO issue rather than a particular case? I couldn't figure out why it is taking so long than I was expecting. In your experience, what do you think is the reason behind the delay? I appreciate the help you guys are providing in this forum.

Yeah, the delay could be FO related. Some FOs prefer to wait towards the end of the FY before processing DV cases.

Congratulations on your new status. I tried to lookup your name on timeline spreadsheet to check the timeline but couldn’t find. It would help us if you could update.
You had your interview on 8/10, care to update us about your case and on how the interview went?

Hi Mom, I received my kid SSN but with DHS restrictions. Is this correct, i was thinking that it should come without any restrictions

My SSN also come with DHS restriction. I just had to go the my local SSN office and let them know about my new status. They quickly put it in their system, and about 10 days later I got my SSN card without DHS restriction in the mail.

Hope this helps

Hi @Sm1smom , I am going to do congressional inquiry. I wanted to confirm if the attached photo is indeed the congressional inquiry form that I should use for my inquiry process. Is the form type I485?1691971678349.png

Use whatever form is provided on your congressperson’s website. I don’t know you congressperson so I have no way of verifying if what you’ve posted above is the correct form or not.
