DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Hi Mom, i received a white slip after my interview. My officer has marked first 2 boxes and verbally said everything looks good after the interview. She also said “if she needs anything else she will mail us but so far everything looks good”. My status hasn’t been changed yet. It still shows “fingerprint has been taken” on case status online. I don’t know if this is a good sign or bad.
There’s no way to tell if it is a good or bad sign. You’ll just have to wait and see.

Like the post I just responded to above, if you take a look at the Timeline spreadsheet, you’ll notice a couple of other cases from your FO, who filed before you, are equally still waiting for their next updates, you’re not the only one waiting for this from the Brooklyn, NY FO. Your FO unfortunately seems to be bunching up DV cases and waiting towards the end of the FY before adjudicating them - they’ve done exactly this same thing in the past.
Hi @Sm1smom,

I checked the timeline and I am the only one who is still waiting for the biometrics letter :(. Two people have a payment cash date on July 25 (mine is July 24) and received the letter on August 1 and August 4. I am extremely worried but don't know what to do. I just tried to ask Emma but the conversation with the live agent suddenly stopped due to a system error and it seems that the system is currently down.
What do you suggest I do? Call USCIS or the NBC?

Also, based on my zip code, my FO seems to be the Jacob Javits Federal Building. Do you have any information about it (like you have for the Brooklyn, NY FO)?

Thank you

Are those two cases assigned to the same ASC as you? You can't simply go by the dates payment got cashed. NBC schedules bio appointments based on ASC workload. There's no way to directly reach the NBC. All calls go to the USCIS 1800 number. You can call to find out if the agents are able to see if your bio has been scheduled.

If you take a look at the Timeline spreadsheet, you should be able to see other cases assigned to the same FO as you, New York, NY - you can compare their Timeline to yours to get an insight into how your FO operates.

When I had interview, I received this letter with the marked 1st box, because officer asked me to bring a new copy of my birth certificate. The official translator made a mistake in the issuing date of my birth certificate (not date of birth) and I was not aware of this mistake until the IO saw that. I immediately send the documents to an official translator in my country and asked to correct the mistake in 10 minutes. Then made a copy and return it back to the officer with this letter. I received the approval notice at the next 5 hour.

DS 260 form Question:

I am the DV2024 principal applicant, and my name shows correctly in the Summary Information!
However, my wife's name shows her first name and last name in reverse in the summary information, but we can edit the corrected name in the ds260 form.

Screenshot 2023-08-10 at 2.17.53 PM.png

Question:
1. Should I add another applicant for my wife with the correct first name and last name in order, or I can submit this DS260 form with the current situation? Will this affect my wife's DV green card process?

Thank you so much!

Post your questions on the 2024 Thread please. And if you're processing CP, be sure to post the question on the CP thread.

Hello everyone,
I want to keep you updated
Thankfully, we made it after the AOS payment ,we decided to switch from AOS to CP as my husband had his interview in Kuwait on June 8 but he was under administrative processing for a month then he got his visa, we transferred the case from Kuwait to Cairo in order for the beneficiaries “us” to get interviewed. Luckily the US embassy in Cairo was very cooperative and accepted our transfer. On July 12 our case was transferred and an interview was scheduled for the beneficiaries on August 8. We went and had our interview on 8/8 at the same day our visas were issued and we got our passport yesterday.
Thank you all for your help especially @Sm1smom @Britsimon Marek Clefs xarthius @mohammedm

This is truly great news! Congratulations and thank you for returning to the forum to provide this wonderful update.

Hi, I found a username, Echinopsis the timeline sheet, but I cannot find any conversation here in the forum. It would be nice to have a contact since we have the same FO. Please let's be in contact if you have a different username here in the forum. Thanks!

Those two cases are not assigned to the same ASC as me, but I checked all the cases and those assigned to New York - so I assume my same ASC - received the Bio Notice at the latest in 11 days (those in Brooklyn in 7 days and those in Queens in 4 days). Tomorrow will be 11 days since I received the NOA, so I will try to talk with a Tier 2 agent hoping to have good news.
In the meantime, do you have any information about my FO (like the ones you have for the Brooklyn, NY FO)?

Thank you
