DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Dear @Sm1smom,

We got our NOA letter on May 15th (text on the 9th), and Bio Appointment letters on May 19th. We did the Bio on May 25th in NYC field office.
We got no interview invite as of yet.

It looks to me from the limited data on the timelines, that with our field office we should got it by now. I tried to chat with Emma multiple times, and every time I get a generic replies that "you will get it when you will get it" and "processing as usual, wait".

Should we reach out to the congressmen or the senator? Wait more?

Thank you.

PS:

This is the last reply from Emma's agent:

"We received your application April 24th 2023. The last update is biometrics were completed May 25th. No request for evidence or interview notice has been mailed. Your I-485 has been at the New York City field office since May 23rd. The NYC field office are working on I-485s from December 29th 2022. There is still around 115 days until they reach your case and April 24th 2023. Your case is still pending."
You need to add your case data to the Timeline spreadsheet in order for me to have a better visibility to your situation, without that I'm sorry I cannot comment on what could be going on or what you should do at this point. The data on the Timeline spreadsheet wouldn't be so limited if all users are equally updating and adding their own data to it.

Most of

Most of the applicants who have filed AOS in April have been waiting for interview letter. It is so hard to wait everyday. Chatting emma is of no use as well since they tell that the case is under normal processing time, dont know how long will be the wait
Comparing your timeline with those of other folks who filed the same month as you is like comparing apples and oranges. You should be comparing your progress with other folks from your own FO if you truly want to understand if your processing time is excessive or not since each FO operates independently of one another.

You are absolutely right.
I requested the access.

ah, I see now. Are you saying you would leave the address set to NY? Won't LA simply transfer it to NY after I get the RFE checked off? It seems to me that if I complete an address change now, it may just finish processing in LA? Or is the concern the oscillation between the two addresses? I have proof of address in both locations and truly do live in both locations.
The LA FO wouldn't have issued a RFE if they were planning on transferring the case to the NY FO. The reason I recommended returning back to the CS in LA to address the deficiency with your medical report was to further help you demonstrate your ties to LA. Now having said that you can go ahead and initiate the address change back to LA if you feel more comfortable with that decision, this really is about your case at the end of the day. I merely shared what I would do if this was my case (which is not submitting another change of address), it may not necessarily mean I'm 100% correct.

I updated the spreadsheet. I also added my timeline to my signature for visibility.

EDIT: Maybe I am on track. The cases from my FO seem to get IL 40-50 days later after the NOA mail.

Yes, your case is on track. You were able to better analyze your timeline after adding your data to the spreadsheet (contrary to your initial post), right? This is why it is important for everyone to contribute their data point as they progress along (and not simply consume the information) doing so makes it a much more effective tool for progress analysis.

Hey, I opened the link to find the lockbox filing locations chart for certain family based forms, I read the first sentence, then scrolled down and found this Lockbox address for Atlanta:

USCIS Elgin Lockbox

U.S. Postal Service (USPS):

USCIS
Attn: AOS
P.O. Box 4109
Carol Stream, IL 60197-4109

FedEx, UPS, and DHL deliveries:

USCIS
Attn: AOS (Box 4109)
2500 Westfield Drive
Elgin, IL 60124-7836

Could you please just confirm the this is the right address? Is FedEx address correct?

Hi mom,

I've finally received an interview invitation notice but it's only for my wife and only contains her receipt number. My online status is still "As of June 21, 2023, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXX, for an interview". Is that normal? Should I await a separate interview notice?

Not unusual. Your interview letter may still show up. If it doesn’t, plan on attending the interview together with your wife.

You certainly can do so.
Hi mom, I managed to speak to a level 2 officer on the phone on Wednesday of last week, he told me to continue waiting, he received my email and phone number again but so far I have not received any notification. If I advance to the senators, is there any harm? we are moving towards the end of calendar year DV2023

Just an update on visa numbers for DV2023. The government have done well this year in scheduling, despite several embassies that have done a poor job. This means that even before any interviews are scheduled for September, they are close to the global cap, with just about 3k to 5k visas left.

Those remaining visas will be shared between the following three competing groups.
1. Additional CP interviews scheduled for the month of September (which get visas reserved for them)
2. Clearing AP/221g cases (which do not have visas reserved)
3. AOS cases (which do not have visas reserved)

There are not going to be enough visas for all those cases, so it is important to do whatever you can to get your AOS cases adjudicated asap in September. Unless the government allow an over use again, I would not be surprised to see visas to run out at some point in September.

No harm.

1. You can use a bank verification letter in place of recent bank statements if you like.
2. You think if I do not understand what a lifetime opportunity for anyone fortunate enough to be selected, I would have relentless spent the last 12 years+ volunteering my time and sharing the needed knowledge to demystify the process free of charge? You actually need to understand while a document may not be specifically listed upfront as mandatory, the absence of such a document may lead to a delayed approval process. While the HS diploma may not been listed as mandatory, there have been one or two cases in the past where whose approval was held up until the applicant was able to produce the diploma, despite having higher degree diplomas/certificates - they had to return to the FO with the diploma after getting it sent from their home country. And of course, several cases have been approved without a request for the HS diploma to be presented. So go figure in terms of what is “mandatory” or not. When I say use your own discretion for something like this, I’m simply encouraging you to make the best decision you can live with under the circumstances and hope for the best.
1. Thank you
2. Thank you for the explanation. English is not my native language and unfortunately I still don't speak it as well as I would like to and often I can't explain myself well :(... I apologize for that. I just want to tell you again that I really really appreciate what you have done and the time you spend helping us.

Hi @Britsimon,
My case number is current for July. What do you mean when you said that "it is important to do whatever you can to get your AOS cases adjudicated asap in September"? Is there anything else I can do other than send the AOS package so that it arrives on July 1?
Thank you for your help!

Not much different from what’s shown on the check in the drop down section of how to write your check
@Sm1smom
On that page it says that the pay in order to “Us Department of Homeland Security” not USCIS.
Can I put on the money order “pay to Us Department of Homeland Security” with the address of USCIS lockbox or leave it blank?
Money order has space to put address.

I would be thankful for any information as I’m trying to send out package tomorrow.
God Bless.

Yes, lockbox address is fine.

Thanks for the reply. I went back to the same civil surgeon, however they refuse to sign the new form with todays date. Instead, they insist that the date they (and me) should sign the form is from November 22, 2022. Is this correct? Must they sign the new 693 form with the old date or today's date?

Hi @Britsimon
1. Are you saying that currently there are only 3-5k visas left or that come September that will likely be the case?
2. Which AOS cases have a reserved visa? I was under the impression that visas were not allocated until after the interview.
3. I received my NOA on Jun 20 and have completed the Bio. Looking at the timelines, my FO (Los Angeles) takes on average a minimum of 2 months from NOA to interview, putting my interview - if all goes to plan - mid/late August. Now I'm worried they'll run out of visas but in my case what else can be done other than wait?

Insisting on using the old date makes sense if no new full medical exam was conducted today. Just make sure the correct date is listed beside the Hep B vaccine to correctly reflect when the shot was received.
