DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Hi,

Did the officer discuss your case with legal team during the interview? Or she let you guys go and said that she needs to discuss case with legal team and reach out after that?

I'd appreciate your response on that.
yeah, she let us go and said she needs to discuss our case with legal team. It is almost one month that I have not heard anything from them.

Hi @Britsimon
1. Are you saying that currently there are only 3-5k visas left or that come September that will likely be the case?
2. Which AOS cases have a reserved visa? I was under the impression that visas were not allocated until after the interview.
3. I received my NOA on Jun 20 and have completed the Bio. Looking at the timelines, my FO (Los Angeles) takes on average a minimum of 2 months from NOA to interview, putting my interview - if all goes to plan - mid/late August. Now I'm worried they'll run out of visas but in my case what else can be done other than wait?
1. By calculating current issued, plus current scheduled cases (which means up to the end of August), and removing some number of no shows (past and future) and applying a guesstimate for refusals etc we can come up with an approximation.
2. No AOS cases have visas reserved for them. The IO pulls a visa for each person adjusting as pretty much the last step in the AOS flow.
3. As I understand it, you pretty much have to wait. Back in my day we could do infopass walk ins, but I'm not sure that would work. You should be OK until early to mid September, depending on whether KCC schedule any more new CP interviews

Hi @Britsimon,
My case number is current for July. What do you mean when you said that "it is important to do whatever you can to get your AOS cases adjudicated asap in September"? Is there anything else I can do other than send the AOS package so that it arrives on July 1?
Thank you for your help!
Well for a start, you should have been using the early filing policy, not sure why you didn't. But then don't inject any delays yourself (like not taking the earliest appointment you are offered because it conflicts with a hairdressers appointment) and if there do exist any ways to hurry the FO up - do that (Mom could comment on that).

Hi Mom,

I think I really screwed up! For some reason I thought I was supposed to send my package to Dallas Lockbox! I guess I thought that becuase I saw someone else ask if that was the correct address and you replied yes.

Now I have seen you put up a link to a table of different addresses, and it seems if you are applying from California or Washington it is supposed to go to a Chicago Lockbox???

Have I ruined my chances?? What should I do?? Please help!
Your package may either get forwarded by the Dallas Lockbox to the Chicago Lockbox for processing, or could be rejected by the Dallas Lockbox and sent back to you for re-filing with the correct lockbox. So you can either wait it out to see which of the two options happens, or you cancel the payment included with the package right now to ensure it gets rejected and you send a new package to the correct lockbox (this option involves getting a new medical report of course for the new package.

Hi mom and everyone,
My case status just updated to "green card is being produced"
I would like to take the chance to thank you mom and everyone in this forum for your support and valuable information that allowed me to reach this step. Words are not enough to thank you mom

Best wishes to everyone !!!

Congratulations and thank you for the update.

Hi Mom, why would I need to get a new medical report? If it is unopen couldn't I just include it when I re-send it??

If it is not posted back to me next week, is there a way I would know it has been sent to Chicago? Thanks!

That will be required if you decide to proactively send a new package to the Chicago lockbox like I described above without waiting to find out if the current package which you already sent to Dallas will either get forwarded to Chicago, or rejected and sent back to you, (which is why I wrote about canceling that payment, right?).

It will take a couple of weeks before you find out if Dallas has forwarded the package or if it’s been returned to you. You will receive your NOA if it gets forwarded and processed by the Chicago Lockbox, or you’ll receive your rejected package in place of the NOA. Either way, there’s no way for tracking or finding out what the outcome is until you get whatever gets sent in the mail.

Hi,

I've just received a request for initial evidence asking about form I-693 ( Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record) from my field office. Does that mean my interview will be waived upon sending those documents?

Maybe.

can u send the form what you sent to kcc to discuss about if they transferred your case?
There was no form. Just an inquiry (asking if the case was transferred successfully to USCIS) in a formal way with my info: full name, dob, case number. I already got a response from them: Please direct your inquiry to the Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) at 1-800-375-5283 or visit uscis.gov.

Hi Mom, there has been no update on my case since bio on May 8. I have initiated congressman inquiry on June 22 and followed on mail again on June 29. there has been no update. Have tried to reach out uscis through emma and the status 'fingerprint has been taken' is what everyone see. there has also been no update to my expedite enquiry. could you please suggest if anything else I can do at this point?

Hi mom, I received an email from KCC under the title of adjustment letter. Does it mean they transfer my file to USCIS?
Thank you

When you say “I have initiated congressman inquiry on June 22 and followed on mail again on June 29. there has been no update” - do you mean you’ve had no response from your congressman’s office from when you reached out to them, or they’ve reached out to USCIS on your behalf and they’ve had no update from them?

From congressman office. They asked to fill a form and mail them. Not heared anything post that. I tried calling up at office to no avail.

If the form was mailed on 6/22, that’s barely a week ago though. What mailing method did you use? Is mailing the only option they’re providing for requesting a congressional request?
