DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

1- My package delivered at 31th May.
2- My payment has not been cashed yet.
I am living in California and the below is the address where I sent my AOS package though FedEx. Is it right?

FedEx, UPS, and DHL deliveries:

USCIS
Attn: AOS (Box 805887)
131 S. Dearborn St., 3rd Floor
Chicago, IL 60603-5517

I don't think they sent anything for me because I check it every day using my receipt number and there is no change so far. Tomorrow I will consult with customer service agents. thank you very much.
Not seeing a status update does not conclusively proof nothing was sent because the status rarely gets updated when the bio notice and in most cases, the IL gets sent.

Hi

Given that I have pending AOS and OPT (submitted on April 12) applications, will I still be subject to the 60-day grace period after graduation? I graduated on May 12, 2023.

Hi, In the i134 Financial Information of Sponsor, if we write the Sponsor's name, how much they make annually, and write bank statement in asset, do we need their bank statement or only 1-3 years payslips will be enough?

Recommend including sponsor’s bank statements only if their annual income is not enough to demonstrate they meet the applicable financial requirements as your sponsor. Otherwise include sponsor’s W2 (or 1099 as the case may be), plus 3 months most recent pay slips or employment verification letter.

You should be. However, bear in mind you're eligible to remain in the US, way past your 60-Day grace period as a matter of fact for as long as your AOS application is pending.

Hello everyone. We just finished our interview. Everything was good, except for the beginning.
I don’t know how this happened, but our officer didn’t know that we can apply for Aos based on dv lottery in US. She told us that we should apply abroad only and get a visa there . I asked to call a supervisor, so later supervisor confirmed that we can, they just need contact a Kentucky center to confirm that Kentucky granted visas to us. So it’s took a bit of our nerves all interview took almost a one hour, she asked some dates from our form , and yes/no questions for both of us.
Did somebody had a same experience when an officer didn’t know how all process going for dv winners? Usually, how many times do they need to get answer from Kentucky?

It is not unusual for them to provide conflicting information when they're unable to see anything else beyond what you can see online about your case. Your application should already with your FO, regardless of if the interview will be scheduled or get waived. And it is not unusual to have no new update for a while following the bio completion. For now, you can take a look at some of the past Timeline spreadsheets to get an idea of how long it took previous filers from your FO to move on to the next phase following bio completion.
Hi @Sm1smom,

I took a look at previous timelines. I could not find recent timelines for the Providence FO. There were two cases back in 2018. Their timeline for receiving IL after bio was 9 days(current in May) and 35 days(current in Jan). My bio was scheduled for May 11th, and I did walk on 8th of May. Looking at these data, do you think my case is outside of normal processing time? I did try to contact USCIS FO, but I received a generic email saying, "We are still reviewing your case". Do you suggest inquiring about the case using congressional assistance? Thank you for your valuable advice.

Yes, this is not unusual. Limited number of IOs have experience dealing with DV based AOS applications compared to family or employment based AOS applications. How long it takes to get a response from KCC depends largely depends on how busy the FO is and how soon they send out the request for the KCC file; the file gets sent electronically, so it usually does not take long for KCC to respond to the request.

I wouldn't say your case is outside of normal processing time at this point, I would recommend a bit more patience. You however can initiate congressional assistance now if you like though.

Thank you. I will hope for a faster response from kcc. But at first, I was so desperate, didn’t know how to explain this to IO.

For our experience, we had a bio on April 14, got an interview letter may 23, interview was scheduled for June 20. So, it took more than 30 days to got an interview invitation letter .

Hi mom, what is the difference between congressional assistance and asking a senator to help expedite the process?
Both are basically the same thing. Technically speaking, no senate can "help expedite the process" as they do not have the power to "force" USCIS to proceed with a case. They however can help request and may be able to obtain case updates which you as an applicant might not have been able to obtain on your own. In certain cases, a congressional inquiry could help bring back on track a case that has, for one reason or the other fallen through the cracks, as it brings attention back to such a case.

I'm careful to not use the word "expedite" when recommending folks seek congressional assistance (same thing with when contacting USCIS directly) as that could backfire. The senator/congressman's office may basically provide you with the list of the official expedite criteria and request you submit applicable documentation before they will reach out to USCIS for case assistance.

Is filling the i-765 still optional or is it required to be included in the package? I had a consulation with a lawyer assistant and he told me that it is generally required in the AOS package?

Thank you mom. My congressman office has replied back to my email and has requested me to fill an online application through his website to complete the privacy release form. The office has asked me to provide details explaining the problem and the resolution/outcome that i am seeking. As you advised above i will not be using a term “expedite” rather I will request congressman office to obtain a case status.

Do you advise anything else i should include in the email beside case status that will help my case move forward ?

Thank you very much
