DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Hello - it has been about 3 weeks since my biometrics. How long do you think I should wait prior to reaching out to uscsis for an update?
Please use your discretion based on two previous responses already provided to fellow AOSers from your FO.

Hi Mom,
a) I received NOA today. Should I go-ahead and open USCIS online account?
b) Do my derivatives (spouse and minor child) too need to open separate account?
c) NOA contains fee payment information and program type. Do BIO letters comes separately? and if yes, would it be one letter or 3 letters ?

1. Yes.
2. They can, if they like.
3. Yes. 3.

I never said the listed financial documents on the AOS spreadsheet are no longer valid. You wanted to know if the financial documents are "required" and I responded by letting you know USCIS has not listed any specific financial document as being required for DV based AOS application. The spreadsheet has a list of recommended tested financial documents that could be used. You have the option of proactively providing the listed financial documents with your AOS package or not, your call, as long as you're aware there's still an expectation to be able to demonstrate one is not likely to become a public charge. So you can decide on how you wish to overcome that.

I-854 is for family family AOS applications, it is not applicable to DV based AOS applications. Take a look at the "Interview Tips" tab of the AOS Process Spreadsheet for more on the difference between those two documents.
Thanks for the clarification, so I take it that one can file an I-485 application without ll any financial support document, tax info etc and the application will be considered complete. And if the need to demonstrate not been a public charge comes up at the interview , one can address it there.
Are you aware of anyone who has sailed through the process without documentary evidence of financial support?
Will provision of educational and professional qualifications be considered a means to demonstrate one's ability to support oneself?
thanks for your help

Why do you think I went to the trouble of putting the AOS Process Spreadsheet together with all the applicable information that could help applicants successfully navigate this process? It is precisely so I do not get drawn into this kind of prolonged back and forth questioning. I don’t have the time nor patience to keep dancing around the need for financial documents inclusion or not.

Like I earlier responded, you’re free to send in your package without any financial documents with the mind of taking such to the interview when you get to that stage, if that is your preference. Don’t ask me for an analysis breakdown or success rate of anyone who has done so in the past. I will however do you the favor of recommending you take a look at “front loading” related questions on the FAQ section of the AOS Process Spreadsheet.

Hello Mom, @Sm1smom
I’m. J1 visa my program will end up soon in late August, I live in Princeton, NJ my status show fingerprints were taken since 15 Feb It’ll be 65 days tmr since I had my bio appointment and I still have no response for the interview
1. Do you think it’s time to contact the congressman and ask for their help at this point ?
2. Do you think my case will be approved before August or I should extend it and go back home in September?

Hi, mom!
Thank you for your time and everything, I really appreciate it!
My AOS package was delivered on 02/02/23 and the bio waived! Since then I haven’t heard from them. Just today checking, I saw a email the KCC sent me on 03/07/2023 stating my case size is 2 and they was waiting for the 2nd payment. Yes I’m married but my wife is US citizens (I’m already on that case AOS). Question: The delay response could be the reason they didn’t schedule my interview yet?
I already started the congressional steps on Monday.
What’s your thought on that?

I'm unable to answer your questions without an understanding of your timeline. Please start by adding your timeline to the Timeline Spreadsheet.

Did you list your wife on your initial eDV registration form?

Yes, your non scheduled interview is due to your pending response to that email request. KCC typically sends out such email (for cases where they think the DV Administrative Fee payment is incomplete) when they've received a request from the FO for the KCC file - this file is required either before the interview gets scheduled or the case gets approved. So you will need to respond back to KCC and explain your spouse is a USC and will not be processing your DV selection as your derivative. You may need to include proof of your spouse's US citizenship in your response. Don't be surprised though if they keep sending you a request for the supposedly incomplete payment, those folks have a tendency to not pay attention to the explanation being provided to them.

Thank you mom! Yes, during my registration I add my spouse! I already replied to the mail but without documents. So I’ll send back a new mail with here birth certificate.
Usually how long does it take for them to reply an email!?
