Just wanted to express my gratitude to @Sm1smom and other members who assisted DV winners in obtaining green cards. My permanent resident card arrived today. I also attached my interview experience at USCIS-St. Louis (Missouri):
The officer was kind and helpful. She went through each of the three steps of the interview step by step after first explaining them.
Before everything, the oath and fingerprint/photo.
First, review the I-485 form by asking for the name, date of birth, and marriage date.
Second, answer all of the form's YES or NO questions.
Third: explain the correction in the I-485 form, acknowledge the number of attachments to the 485 form, and then ask for signature.
Then she said, "Your application is approved."
At the end, she said that your approval notice will be mailed to you next week, and within 1 to 3 months, the actual card will be delivered to you.
However, the facts were like this:
On the same day, in the afternoon, I got a new status on the Case Tracker app for "new card is produced."
The case tracker changed the status to "new card is mailed to you" one day following the interview.
And finally, today (five days after the interview), the USPS delivered the card to my house. (TIP: Go to your USPS account, find the future delivery, and you can see the items like USCIS letters and packages on shipping and find the tracking number.)
The officer was so nice and asked us whether we planned to leave the U.S. now, and we said maybe!
She said, since shipping the card can take a while, I can put a stamp on your passport so you can come inside the U.S. without the physical card. Although you usually need to schedule another appointment for that, she kindly agreed when we asked her to. However, we received the card in just five days. The stamp might help some DV winners who need to leave the country right after the interview.
I wish the DV winners stress-free success.
Best,
