Staff on Strike

Guys,

Does any one has an update on what date of April are they processing and did you hear of any cases in May got cleared.

I heard that the staff at DOL are on a stike.

Thanks

I doubt it

I don't think any of the bargaining units are in active contract negotiations and the new governor has not been around long enough to do enough to provoke a strike. I'd question this info.

transition to PERM

I was just reading the transition guidance provided by DOL to the SWAs re: PERM. I had heard that all backlogged cases were going to be sent to clearance centers but assumed those were the really old ones. Apparently, the SWA's will be sending off any cases from December 31, 2003 or earlier that have not been opened. Unless there is a dramatic speed-up in processing, mine would likely be one to go since it was filed in November 03. All of the petitions received in the reduction centers will be processed first in, first out so I have no idea whether the transition will speed things up for me or slow it down.

cases to BEC

Heresmine

Where did you hear that cases filed prior to Dec 03 will be moved to BECs?
Thats' wonderful news.
