Chennai Feb Interview Thread!

Pkt-3 not recieved - Reply from Chennai

FedEx confirms that pkt-3 was delivered on 12/10/2001 10:30 AM. I recieved mail from chennai on 12/18 "pkt3 not recieved". I think I might miss the Feb train.......
 
Same boat with PKT III

Mine was received at Chennai Consulate on 12/4 according to FedEx. Chennai consulate sent "PKT III - no information" as on 12/18. Think that I may miss the Feb interview. Oooops!!!!!!!!!!!
 
reply from consulate - no information about our packet3

We sent our packet3 on Dec 1st to chennai and the consulate received it on Dec6th, we sent a mail on 10th asking whether they had received the packet3 for which we got a reply "Please enquire with us after a week". Two days later we asked our relative staying in India to call and verify, after he gave our case number to the operator, she confirmed with him the primary applicant\'s name and had asked him to call after 10 days to check if we would have our interview in Jan.

On Dec 17th we sent a mail to double check if our info had entered into their system, for which we got a reply "We have no information about Pkt3." What does this mean? We assumed that our info has entered into their system since they gave the name immediately after our relative gave our case number over phone, however their reply to the mail says there is no information about our packet3. Has this happened to anyone else? Have they told anyone\'s name correctly without receiving the packet3?

I think what it means is they have got an electronic
confirmation about your P3 but not the actual papers from NVC.

Packet III mailed to chennai - Nov 29.
Chennai Received according to Fed Ex - Dec 4th.
Sent e-mail to chennai on Dec10, Dec 14, Dec 17 for confirmation - reply is "Pkt 3 - no information" all the time.

Yesterday night I spoke to the chennai customer service representative. The following is the conversation summary between her and me:

Me : Case# MDR2001XXXXXX
Her : Is the name ____________ (Given my name correctly)
Me : Just wanted to know if you have received my pkt 3 and when can I expect the interview
Her: When did you send?
Me : Dec4 - reached consulate.
Her : Yours is an incomplete Pkt 3 information. Somebody has to update the system. Unless it is done I cannot give the possibility of interview date.
Me : What do you mean by incomplete information. who will update the information should it be done by Chennai consulate? Can I assume that the pkt3 information is available with you?
Her : Sorry I cannot say.
 and hung up

I could not make out anything out of the conversation?

Any ideas as what does it mean will be welcome.

I guess what it means is, they have info about you
in the electronic form but not the actual papers.
Here is what i got yesterday when i sent an email.

It might also mean that though they have received the papers
from NVC, they are not going reply to the emails until they
finalize the list.
 
CP Confusing

I checked with NVC and they said that the Packet III was posted last week and the case will be sent to India this week. I called my lawyer and he said that the Packet III has not yet reached his office. He said he was concerned that NVC is delaying in sending the papers to India. Should we wait for NVC to send the papers to India before sending Packet III to India. Can anyone please show light on this case?

How do I find out when I will get an interview.
I sent my P3 on dec 6,01.
Where do i find out abt whether my p3 has been entered into their system.
What number will I need to find that out.

Wait a week or two - This opinion is from previous suggestions I have read. It is better that chennai recieve case info from NVC before recieving your pkt-3 otherwise there are cases where they had to fax pkt-3 again.

I lived in Canada for 6 months and 15 days from Jan\'97 to July\'97. Do i need a PCC from Canada for CP @ chennai?

My Packet 3 received at the chennai consulate

Called Chennai consulate tonight, heard from a courteous lady that our Packet 3 had been received. We sent it on Dec 1st and acc. to fedex it was delivered on Dec 6th. I hope the info has been entered into the system. We are hopefully waiting for Feb interview...
