I think we just have to be patient until they publish the dates
on the web site. Theres nothing much you can do about before that.
 
Things to do while waiting

1. Have you guys applied for PCC at the consulate? I applied on Dec 28th at Indian consulate in NYC

2. I have blocked ticket for feb 8th night in Singapore airlines.
Nothing available on British Airways and Lufthansa during that time. Are there any flights that go directly to Chennai? I mean not thru Mumbai or Delhi.

Any inputs will be appreciated.
 
Costa: Direct flights to Chennai

The airlines I know off are Lufthansa, BA, Singapore and cathay pacific. You may want to check air france, malaysian and garuda as well.

        U.S. VISA FEES TO CHANGE ON JANUARY 14, 2002

        CHENNAI, January 7, 2002 - In coordination with the American Embassy
in New Delhi, the U.S. Consulate in Chennai announced an adjustment to visa
application and issuance fees for all categories effective January 14, 2002.

        The Consular Sections of the American Embassy New Delhi, and the
Consulates General in Chennai, Mumbai and Calcutta periodically alter the
Rupee payments for their consular application and issuance fees to bring
them in line with shifting exchange rates. The fees in U.S. dollars will
remain unchanged.

        The following is a list of fees with the new exchange rate:

        Non-Immigrant Visa Application Fee Rs. 2205

Non-Immigrant Visa Issuance Fee Rs. 3675

Immigrant Visa Application Fee Rs. 12740

Immigrant Visa Issuance Fee Rs. 3185

Called yesterday... Feb likely.... call after 10 days

Called chennai consulate yesterday, they said that our interview has not been scheduled yet, call after 10 days. When asked when is it likely they said Feb. Atleast the last part is good.

Rajesh thanks for the other flight names, I will check them out today. Malasian is ruled out as it flies through LA and it costs 1380, I live NJ.

I have a question about the Fees posted by cprocks, Can we take the dd for the amount mentioned in the notice

Immigrant Visa Application Fee Rs. 12740
Immigrant Visa Issuance Fee Rs. 3185

 or do we have to confirm again with the consulate. I understand that dollar varies with Rs daily, what is the cut-off point?
 
Got interview date

Guys, I called chennai consulate just at 10:00 PM EST today. A friendly customer told that our interview is scheduled on Feb 19. Good luck to everybody. Start calling to find out your interview dates.
 
yes same no. .The phone was answered only after dialing and ringing for 3 or 4 times.... keep trying

Got it for Feb 15th.

Atlast.. after several tries, I finally got thru. I even recognize her voice now and I am certain that she does too :)
 
All of you, when did your Pkt 3 reach chennai?

Mine reached Dec 14, but i have not got any confirmation. In fact the email said \'check in Feb\'. Did anybody send Pkt3 around this time and get a date in Feb?

Congratulations...
I mailed my P3 from here on Nov 20 to Chennai.Got email confirmation that they recd P3 on Nov 29. I am hoping for Feb interview.
Anyone else in the same time frame got a Feb interview?
