Quebec: FBI and PCC

Kenny04,

Do I need to send FBI report and PCC for Quebec with my initial application? I do not see those mentioned anywhere in their applications. Please let me know. Sorry! posted in wrong section as nobody is active in Quebec section of this fourm.

Thanks for your message.

What about birth certificate? It has not mentioned about birth certificate either in the list of documents needed to be submitted with the application.

kothari_rupesh,

Didn't you talk about some issues with your medical result earlier in this section of the forum? How is that going? My wife has some health issues and I am worried what is going to happen when she goes for a medical check up.

Yeah my Chest Xray had some thing unclear so my doctor suggested do a CAT SCAN and send which I did, but I dont know if Buffalo has received it or processed it as such.

Thanks for the reply. I thought you already had your PR finalized. I should have looked at the timelines at the bottom of your post. Please let me know when you hear from CIC Buffalo.

If you do not mind me asking, what exactly happens in medical process? I mean what doctor does and what they try to find out in your body. Can they find out all the health issues one has?

Thanks

URGENT: Taking FBI Finger Prints in India

Friends/Experts,

Can we do FBI finger prints in India. My wife is in India (Hyderabad) and will be there for next 2 months.

1. Is it possible to take finger prints in India ? Are there any authorized finger printing agencies there ?

2. Do the Police Departments in India offer this service ?

Thanks
Arun

Nirakar,

The medical process (I did mine on July 8, 2005) is as follows:
- Chest X-Ray
- Blood samples to test for HIV, etc.
- Since I come from a Malaria prone region, I had to give more blood for a malaria smear (costing additional $45)
- Basic eye check, just made me read the eye chart casually
- He also knocked on my knees/elbow to make sure they are ok

After 1 week, I received a call from the doctor's office to go in (which obviously caused tension coz that indicates a problem). When I went in, the doc said the HIV test had an issue and we needed to re-do it (obviously costing me an additional $100), once that result came in, I got a call from them again saying everything is ok and they gave a tracking number for the results.

When I went for the interview, the counsilor said meds were ok.

*************
My guess is that they blood they draw is tested for any communicable diseases, don't remember all the tests they do, sorry!

Hope the above info is of some help.

FAA,

Thanks for telling me about the medical process. Sounds like not a very fun thing to do when your health is not in a perfect condition. Do you remember if doctor said anything about PROLACTIN level when they did your blood test? I just want to know if they check for prolactin level. If you are in medication, is that going to show up in blood or urine test?

My wife has a pituitary tumor which is not communicable disease and not cancerous (99% of the time). But she needs to keep taking medicine (may be rest of her life), which costs us about $100 (when we buy it from Canada) per month as she does not have health insurance. Only way to find that tumor is by MRI, but high prolactin level in blood indicates there is something wrong in pituitary gland.

I am just worried that she may not pass the medical because of that. I do not want to lie to the doctor, but I am tempted. If I tell the truth, we may be denied visa right away. If Canadian government does not want to pay for her treatment for that specific problem, I am fine with that as long as we are not denied visa for that reason. I am pretty sure I can afford $100 per month.

I am in a very difficult situation.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

It depends on how you want to procede , on the health form which the doctor fills there will be a coloum about the medicines you take ,

Here if say that you don't take any medication that will be a lie, if you say the truth then the doctor will ask for the prognois , i.e how the treatment is working and will it cause a drain to Canadian society in future !

As long as you can get a report form you doctor that she is doing fine and she has good prognosis , then the chances of rejecting are less !
---------------------------------------------------------------

Like the Immigration department can always check SIN number and get the details,

Your options are 1) to not say the truth and hope everything is OK,
the problem here is they may find it out now or say you get the PR and latter they find out that you lied then it will be an issue also

2) declare the truth and let them decide , here you will have the peace of Mind and you don't have to think some day the truth may come out !
---------------------------------------------

In our Case the spouse had HYPO thorid and diabetes , but both are controlled , we get a Report from doctor that both health conditons are treated properly ,
we got approved luckily ,
so bottom line is if you have a Health condition does not mean you are rejected , they do consider the facts how well it is maintened and what is prognosis in the next 10 years , how much it costs on the social care etc !
-----------------------------------------------------

P.S :-- All the above are my own opinions , I am not a doctor or Immigration specialist

I agree with Sri25... it is likely that many people are on some sort of medicine and that does not mean that they get rejected directly.

If it is controlled ailment, and would not put alot of financial obligations on the Canadian Governemnt, then I don't see a problem. However, in an event you do not admit the truth now, and it is later determined, then it could put you into some trouble. You have to keep in mind, that after getting the PR approved, they can revoke it anytime until you become a Canadian citizen (which takes about 3 yrs).

If you are still concerned, I would suggest you find someone in medical field (a friend or relative), and he/she might be able to answer particular questions as to whether the medication will show in blood/urine test.

Goodluck!

sri25 and FAA,

Thank you so much for your suggestions. sri25 said that they can check SIN numbers and find out all the details, but we do not have SIN numbers. We are in the US and we have social security number (SSN), but how are they going to find out our social security numbers?

Anyway, I have not even applied for PR yet. I will have at least 18-24 months if I go with federal and about a year if I go with Quebec to think about the medical. My goal is to cure her tumor by then. I heard that when I get a full-time job, they cannot deny insurance just because she has a pre-existing condition and my goal is to get a surgery done when she has insurance from my employer. I am starting a new job in January.

I hope I do not have to lie the doctor while doing the medical for Canadian PR. If we cannot cure her tumor by the time we have to do the medical, I may ask my wife to stop taking medicine for a couple of weeks and write in the form that she is not talking any medication. I do not think we need to tell the doctor everything about our body. That's his/her job to find out if there are problems in our bodies.

I really do not want to lie, but if I think (at the time of the medical) telling the truth might harm us more than not mentioning anything, I might choose the later. I have heard that immigration officers are not very nice people. If you try to be honest and nice, they will have just one more reason to reject you. If I tell the truth, I am taking the risk of not getting PR. If I do not tell the truth, I am taking the risk of finding out it later. Either way I am taking the risk. I will pick the risk of finding out later over not being able to get PR.

I hope and pray that I do not have to lie anybody and able to fix the problem before I need to be in that situation.

Your comments are welcome.

Thanks

PCC, IELTS required upfront?

Forgive me for being ignorant. I am planning to apply PR in canada. My question is, do I need to have PCC from Pakistan before sending out my application. And do I need to give IELTS if I've done MBA from US? And the fact that I scored 82 points on my selft assessment, so even if they give me zero on my English, I still score 66. So does that mean, I don't need to give IELTS? And if they reject my application for being incomplete, do I have to give application fees again to restart the process? Thanks in advance for answering these questions.

Hi Zakiahmed,

Yes you need to submit the PCC from Pakistan when you send in your application. The applicaton of some people on this forum was accepted without the PCC but I will not recommend it. If you feel that it is going to take a very long time to get the PCC from Pakistan then you can send your application without it and mail the PCC to them when you get it.

You can submit your application without the IELTS score by writing an English proficiency letter. But I will strongly recommend you to appear in IELTS. Your application will not be returned if you do not provide the IELTS score. If for some reason they return your application they will also return the application fee.

You are supposed to send original IELTS score. You can request the test center where you appeared in IELTS to send the score directly to Buffalo by paying $10.

Kenny04,
Thanks for the reply. I just recived a letter from RPC buffalo that I need to send RPR fee(landing fee) with in 30 days. I did not send my IELTS score yet. However I mentioned my case details in IELTS application. Is there a chance that test center might have sent the score directly?

Another doubt, Is my case approved, as they are asking the landing fee? I am asking this question, because I have done additional medical test just month ago as requested by Ottawa medical department. My family has done full medical test in Aug 2005.

If I send the landing fee now, will they send request for passport immediatly?

Congratulations! This is good news. As they have asked you to provide the RPRF it means your case has been approved. Send them the fee ASAP and you should get the passport request soon - expect it by Jan 2006.

I believe they have already received your IELTS score. Can you please tell me your timeline and where you have applied from?

Waiting for IA

My application was received in August 2004 and I was requested in April 2005 to provide the IELTS score. I sent in the score (originals) in July 2005 and haven't heard anything yet :( .

Has anybody who was asked to send in the IELTS score faced the same problem?? I am really disappointed as my friend who applied after a month I did has received his landing fee request and I am still waiting for my IA.

Hi NK,

Yesterday a person in a similar position posted the following message on another forum:

"Timeline:

AOR May 2004
IELTS requested March 2005
IELTS submitted June 2005
IA and medical form Nov 14 2005
p.s. intervew waived and current statement of funds reqired
"

So hopefully you should get a response from Buffalo soon.
