Received at atlanta on March 10,2003

Received my case at Atlanta Labor on March 10, 2003. Waiting ... I am on 7th year extension. it was applied with regular processing. it took almost 6-7 months to get 7th year extension.

I saw below article in Sheela murthy website. As per this article, i guess DOL - Atlanta almost stopped processing RIR cases till they get field guidance on RIR processing (this is just guess, may not be true)

**********************************************
Department of Labor Update – October 2003
RIR Processing

The DOL headquarters is expected to issue field guidance on Reduction in Recruitment (RIR) processing by mid-November 2003. This guidance is expected to provide insight on adjudication of RIR applications that have been pending for lengthy periods, as well as how the DOL will consider new applications filed under RIR procedures.

Backlog Reduction Plan

Two backlog reduction centers are scheduled to open in Dallas, Texas and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The pilot backlog reduction center in Gaithersburg, Maryland, however, will be closed at the end of 2003. The two new centers are expected to become operational quickly, resulting from the testing of software and the development of training materials at the pilot office.

Does anyone has idea why DOL website is not being updated for ATL DOL. ATL DOL processing times are still for OCT'03.

Seems like they are just testing our limits of frustation

Not only the ATL DOL, all the state SESA comes under Atlanta regional DOL updated dates shows only Oct'2003. What is going on???

SRI,

Why don't t you call the ATL DOL @ 404-562-2115 and ask them why they are not approving Nov cases or if there is any halt on processing?

Just called ATL DOL @ 404-562-2115. The lady told me they still Working on November 2002 case. When I asked her, if they have stop certifying cases. she said "There is nothing like that, we are working on certifying cases. The AVM was broken and it is repaired."

Lets not speculate guys... Let them work and let us pray.:D

Today I talked with my attorney and she informed us that two of her october cases (IT RELATED ) got approved last week. So there are still Oct cases pending. :D Lets pray :D

regional approval.

My case was filed with Georgia DOL.
It got approved by State, wating on regional approval.
But I was told that my file will be hold at state office
and will not be forwarded to Regional.
Insted some officers from regional will come and cerify few cases
at state office itself. Is it common practice? What does it mean?

Will it be done faster or slower?

Any advantages or disadvantages of the same?

Please let me know I am concerned.

:( ;) ;)

GreenMD2003,

This is common. They started this way of working about 3 months back. At this point, we don't know whether this case will processed quick or not. How did you get this information?

GreenMD2003,

Did your attorney called up ATL DOL? or by fax request for case number? When was your case moved to ATL DOL?

He called Georgia Sesa and atlanta DOL.
No I have not received case number.

Does anybody else has similar scenario?
What did their atternoy tell them?

Please let us know if any of you have got any information from your attorney about processing at ATL DOL. Please check with your attorney.
