TAMIL_GC & All Case Number waiting Guys,

I have just got email response from Attorney about my case number.

DOL Lady replied that now, many cases are being sent to an off-site location for review, straight from the state DOL. After review, they are then sent to the Atlanta US DOL office, where it will be given a case number. Attorney also asked for the any special flag or something for this file, she said that there's no problem with the case, this is just a new system they've put into place in order to clear up their current backlog. It may speed up the processing.

I suggest you to request Attorney to inquire about case number by phone, and see what response you got, trying to see this method apply to all or only Atlanta region. My Attorney said non Atlanta region case process quickly !

Anyone who got case number quickly (forwarded July / Aug / Sept -03), please share info, when it forwarded? and when you got case number?

powerman,

Thanks for sharing that info. It is good to know that ATL DOL is trying to clear backlog. Lets see when and how we can get the case number. At least I am trying to make sure that my case reached the DOL. Otherwise, I don't want to put myself in trouble by DOL saying you file has last after long time waiting.

powerman,

I believe the new process that has been implemented is only applicable for Georgia SESA. Hopefully, the federal processing times will improve for all of us, we can only hope.

I am not completely sure. But I believe that they send a letter saying that your file has been transferred to Atlanta when they are done processing it at the state level. Basically, at the end of the SESA stage FL SESA will send a letter to your lawyer saying that the processing is completed at the state level. It should take about 4 months for the letter to get to your lawyer- depending on the processing time of FL SESA. You want to make sure that the lawyer receives the letter. Sometimes, as in my case, the petition does get lost at FL SESA.

I did receive that letter saying your file has been forwarded to US DOL and file number with SESA. Now I believe that, New method only apply to Atlanta region.

Atlanta Guys, Please share/post info...When forwarded, when you got case number, anybody experience same problem.

ATL DOL - Applied in OCT2002

ATL DOL - Applied in OCT2002
Hi All,

SESA application was submitted in OCT2002.

My lawyer tells me, they do not have a Case number yet, but when they called GA - SESA, they told him that the case has been forwarded in Feb'2003.

The application did not have a telephone number, so I cannot use the AVM either.

Please provide some guidance, as to what can I do to get the case number in this case.

Thanks
Rxr.

rim...

Is the case number you see in the letter a 8 digit (033XXXXX) or a 5 digit case number. My appliction has moved from FL SESA to ATL DOL couple of months back and so far I didn't receive any number assigned at DOL from my attorney!

I would like to know if the case number is assigned at (FL)SESA for DOL or DOL assignes it after they receive it... I think I am hearing contradicting info.

TIA.
Prad
