APRIL 2001 thread for I-485 Mailers to CSC (from 12/27/2001)

AVM Dec 29 ?

Yesterday I talked to IIO, he said that INS is waiting for my FBI report. After recieving the report, the case will be assigned to an officer.

Then why AVM says "on dec 29 th ..resumed". Also I don\'t understand this report ? I have done my FP on Oct 27th 2001. Anyone with clear
process understanding ?

bwbala, I am in same situation

It seems you got same reply from IIO as I did when I called on 01/28. I did my FP on 10/20 at San Jose & my AVM says "Dec 29....." message.
 
AVM says Approved on 1/28

AVM says my and my family\'s AOS Approved on 1/28.
PD - 9/00
EB2 - RIR
RD - 4/17/00
ND - 6/22/00
FP - 2/11/00
EAD - Card never recd. Lost in mail
AOS Approved - 1/28 (AVM, yet to recv approval notices)

Talked with an IIO

She asked for my WAC # and told me my FP reports have been received, and everything looks fine. But my case has not been assigned, as they are currently processing cases from Jan 2000. But my case was filed in April of 2001. I did my FP earlier this January. I am wondering how long I will have to wait before my case can be assigned to an officer. I wonder if it\'s just INS standard practice to tell what (oldest) dates they are currently processing only. My AVM message still says 975-999 days...

check my earlier posting

there have been a lot of approvals recorded by pcee this month
50 percent of them were april cases and 25 percent of them were may 2001 cases and 25 percent of them were cases filed before april 2001

However that does not mean that everyone from april has been done

You will see a steady list of approvals being recorded in this website
and i am sure that ur case will soon be approved.

I am sure that u r getting impatient like myself - I am from the july rd case list and am also getting impatient.
But the best thing that we can do is that check our avm in the night regularly.

Processing is going quite smoothly at CSC and it is much better than vsc/tsc/nsc

Hang in there , ur approval is definitely coming soon

May be that when we do FP, they were previously
just entering the prints into FBI systems for
future checks and were passing the ball to INS and
INS would send approvals in just 15 days after
that stage. But now, it seems to me, that
they have changed the procedure a bit and are
doing extensive FBI checks. That explains this
unusual delays and generic AVM. What do you guys
think ?

My thinking is that, since the INS procedures
change so often in all unpredictable ways
we all waiters of GC approval should share our
feeling/experiences/conversations with IIOs/etc.,
with each other as much as possible. We are
fortunately doing the exact thing and are staying
united using this board. I don\'t know of any
other way of staying sane during this long
waiting period.

Hi Shaking,
I am in the same boat too. My wac# is 01-179 and I am still waiting. But looking at the figures, it looks like those who did FP in Nov and Early Dec are getting approvals. You and I are few of those unfortunate individuals whose FP got delayed. I did my FP in Late Dec and waiting for approval now. It is frustrating when people with later NDs get approved, but hey, it is INS!

I have done my FP on Oct 9th still waiting. I have checked 10 days back with IIO and was told my case is not yet assigned.

Hope to hear some news this or next week. I check AVm everyday but still keep hearing the Dec 29th message. last 3 months i see my phone bill and see that i have called more than 50 times.

FP 12/27/2001, AP 1/28/2002

Wait for FP for 8 months. Then I asked my layer
to send a Fax inquiry on beginning of Nov.
INS responsed on 11/23/2002, And issued the FP notice
at same day.
