Hi batman PPC,
Did you do DCF ( direct consular filing ) from Dhaka or did you file for your wife from US? Do you have any idea which process takes lesser time? It's been taking more than 5 months in your case. I thought it takes only 3/4 months for K3 visa if filed directly from Dhaka. Correct me if I am wrong.

How soon can my wife get a temporary work permit after she arrives? She interviews at the Consulate on Feb 4. (We filed the I-129F back in mid-August.) What do I have to file next? My wife already has a SS#. My wife will go crazy if she can't work at something kind of professional. Basically, I am looking for a short cut--unless we will have to go through the full 90-day green card process.
Thanks,
Boyd

Batman,
Have you heard anything from Bangladesh consulate since you filled for your wife? Did you do any inquiry with BD consulate after filing? My assumtion is that it shouldn't take that long. You can do DCF ( Direct Consular Filing ) if you are a USC. You don't have to leave in your home country.
Mary Bakhouya said:no you can not, first you need proof that you did file the I-130, and in this case you will need a cashed check receipt from ins, or the letter of receipt from ins, stating they have received your application, then you can apply for the I-129, with this receipt.
