Congratulations
Thats good news from two aspects. One that you got your app approved ( I guess it would be the OR) and another would be that it gives us hope since we are in line now and can aspect something soon.
Congrats once again. Good luck for the I485/CP stage.
keeping the thread going
Guys..we havent recently heard from anyone else who has filed in Jan. Also I have hardly seen anyone with last week of Dec as ND. Does that mean that the Jan ones will be taken up soon.
New amount
the date when your package is received at the service center is what will hold true and not the mailing date. hence you have to pay the new amt.
Should Not Matter
because your application was for OR and it has been approved for OR. Might have been a problem if it was other way. However, you can get it sorted by calling the IIO.
I disagree
I am in the same boat and I cannot use the prefix "Dr" since I do not ECFMG certification as of now. An MD from overseas can get you a fellowship and would not be a problem for H1 (5.5 years degree) but certainly cannot make you a Dr in the US. Moreover MDs are not needed...
Are you US MD
If you have an MD from US, then only can you have a Doctor before your name since you do not have Ph.D. An MD from overseas is not the same and is not recognized here. If you do not have an MS, then LC is the only way to go.
original letters needed
I think original letters and the first page of publications should be sent. There is no point in keeping original letters with us. The photocopies can be used when you reply to RFE.
No hurt in trying
if you can justify national interest, there is no hurt in trying. Also, some Ph.d\'s have been refused. so it just depends on how good your case is. one might have got a Ph.D with bad research/no papers etc. even with an MS, you might have done something/will do something that...
Reference letter importance
I understand that reference letters count a lot but do letters from people like directors of federal institutions etc count significantly more than others.
No Title
Hello yee
I too have an MS and have applied for NIW. You can send an email to anxiousandy@hotmail.com and we can discuss it further. There is a wealth of information in this forum but sometimes situation might be different if you have MS. Is that right guys.
