You do not need to extend your I-94. You can stay in US as long as your I-485 is pending. Inform to your employer about the using EAD. If you wanted to travel outside US, you must have an AP. Note: You can not change your status back to H1, once you use your EAD.

Contact with your Congressman or Senator. They will send you some forms to fill. You may have to send some copies of receipts and any letter received from USCIS lately.

You should change the address on all pending applications with CIS. Change of address some times faster your case unless it is a change in the Service center. Post office will not redirect USCIS mails to you new address. Keeping an eye on your LUDs or online may not help at all the time...
