Hi,
My mom left USA with her GC about 4 years ago without a re-entry permit and stayed in my home country because of some family issues. Is there a way she can use the GC to come back to USA? Has it become invalid?
Thanks in advance.
Gurus,
In the citizenship application there is a question regarding receiving of a citation. Does the speeding ticket count as a citation? I know probably it doesn't. But I want to be sure.
Thanking you in advance.
Name check cleared & 485 approved.
I received a mail from USCIS on 02/22/07 saying that a welcome notice has been sent. I got scared when both USCIS and senator informed that I am in name check. I did not do anything other than writing letters to the senators. I am lucky that my NC got stuck...
My experience is the same as desi_boy_usa. I was able to get the NC info from USCIS twice and both cases I was talking to female reps. The Male ones always play the same crap "we don't have access to that info......"
I got the approval news this morning. It really made my day. I was really worried when the USCIS and my senator informed me that my NC is pending. I was mentally getting prepared for at least two years of waiting.
Does anybody know what the ADIT in the following status message mean...
You can still file a WOM and I would suggest that. The thing is that now you will have to fight the US Govt. in court and convince the judge that your namecheck has been unreasonably delayed. Previously the USCIS would put your namecheck on the expedite list when you filed the WOM and they would...
Can't remember who but someone asked me for this file. Here USCIS is hinting that the Name-checks are not resolved timely due to the lack of the capacity(1st bullet of the 2nd page).
DBU,
I am with you for the premium NC processing.Even the USCIS finally said that the whole NC fiasco is due to the lack of funding.I have read somewhere that they pay $4/name-check to FBI.They are saying that with the increased fee one of the thing that they will be doing is
"Improving the...
mamamiax,
Usually when the FP check is cleared only LUD changes but status remains the same. But if you still have confusion you can call FBI to know if they have sent your FP result to USCIS or not. They will tell you only that much. Remember this no. is for FP check not name-check...
While defending their fee increase,USCIS finally conceded that the delay in name check is due to the lack of funding.
"• Improving the timeliness of background checks by expanding current name check resolution capacity, establishing co-located name check resolution capacity, and fully funding...
I have read in the other part of the forum that USCIS pays only $4/ name check request. This is enough if your name is cleared by the first check. But if your name is flagged by the FBI's voodoo algorithm this is not enough to cover for all the hours that the FBI agents have to to put in manually...
It's the same I think. Go to the forum http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=194681
to read the citizenship seeker's experience. I think we the 485 sufferers should also visit this forum. It seems more active and has a wealth of information .
Since this whole Name check mess is funding related (Not enough FBI agents), I don't see this backlog to be over anytime soon. The USCIS should pay FBI more for the namecheck and should take the extra $$ from the applicants. I think we should write to our congressman & senators to implement this...
Why not a premium Name check?
The only way I see out of this Name check hell in less than 3+ yrs, if USCIS/FBI put a provision for premium Name check. I am sure almost all the people will be more than happy to spend $1000+ to get out of this hell even it takes 3 months.
FBI can hire more...
Has anybody been able to find a pattern for this dreaded namecheck?
I have done the special registration when it was first introduced for the males from muslim countries. I have done the special registration while exiting & entering USA ever since. I have updated my address through AR-11...
