The answer is "NO" as one officer said. The fingerprinting is for background check for any criminal activity. It is not applicable for a toddler like your daughter.
Hi,
I appreciate if any one can share their experience or knowledge regarding a trip to Europe countries (UK, France, Switzerland and Italy). We are permanent residents of US and our two kids are US citizens. We like to travel in Europe on our way to India. I greatly appreciate any...
A friend of mine wants to change his field after one year of getting green card. He got his gc in the field of science but due to low pay and poor job market he wants to change his field into computer job market. Is there any issues for his future citizenship. Any suggestion is helpful in making...
Hi Jane,
Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately, her father was in process of naturalization when he died. Her mother is not a US citizen or a green cardholder. Her brother was US Citizen, but he passed away, now her sister-in law is US citizen, can she be a substitute sponsor. I...

If your wife finished 2 year Home Residency Requirement, she is eligible for green card application process (follow to join). You can start the process ASAP though follow to join case take some time. Good luck!
HRR is 2 years. If I were you I would not opt for J1 visa which requires 2HRR and do HRR. I would rather wait for some time for follow to join for GC. It is a real pain to get a waiver if you do not want 2HRR.
As a green card holder you can sponsor your spouse as dependent in Family Based Category. It takes several years to get a green card for her. It is possible to change her status while your green card application is pending. Now it is too late. Consult a competent lawyer.
You will get your new ss card without restrictions. If I were you, I would shred the old ss card myself after receiving the new card (no name and number change). Keeping old SS card does not help in anyway.
Tracking the plastic card process and arrival. Just check the USCIS online case status. If you have not received the card after 60 days you may call the number given at the USCIS website. Good luck!
If I were you, I would file another I-485 application based on I-140 (EA) approval. I am not sure you can link one application to another. If it is possible, it is a good idea to consult a competent attorney. Good luck!
