I don't think it's true. I am a permanent resident now but I had a legal name change as a non-immigrant. I had my unofficial first name on my previous driver's license when I applied. I used my first name on my passport as a middle name. Believe it or not, it was possible before 9-11....at...

Successful CP interview in Tokyo I just finished my interview at US embassy in Tokyo on the 18th. As everybody says, it was quite easy.

Before your embassy schedule an interview for you, it has to request to DOS to assign a visa number for your visa. If your PD is not current at that time, the embassy won't be able to schedule your interview.

Basically they are saying that Drs. Rxxx’s and Ragxxx’s professional credentials are better than yours and asking you to prove that you are as good as them.

Did you decide how to answer this? Having big shots write letters does not seem to be always good. I have seen similar cases in AAO decisions.
