Any of you September guys, are you one of the lucky ones from these numbers. Is there an updated tracker for September cases?

Hi

gc_crack,
can you explain how too run this scanner, so that we form a group and each one of us can check different starting number? The reason you can only scan 100 cases from a single IP address.

Number Format

I think we are trying to read too much in the number. I have an RD of 10/03 and ND of 10/13 but my WAC is 06-008-5xxxx. How can this be explained?

I guess first 2 digits means fiscal year, next 3 digits means work day # of the year.

I think WAC-06-008-5xxxx means ND is 8th work day on 2006 fiscal year, which is around October 12 of 2005.

I might be totally wrong though.

Here is the USCIS definition
=====================

Receipt Number: LIN 99 001 50001

In this example, the LIN represents the Nebraska Service Center, where the application was initially
received into the electronic system. Cases that are filed at or received by another Service Center but
processed at the NSC will generally carry the designation of the originating Service Center.

LIN = Lincoln, Nebraska or NSC
EAC = St. Albans, Vermont or VSC
SRC= Dallas, Texas or TSC
WAC= Laguna Niguel, California or CSC

In the example above:
----------------------------
99 = represents the fiscal year (October 1, through September 30) in which the case was received.
001 = represents the computer workday in the fiscal year on which the fee was taken.
50001 = represents the particular case number.

For cases with particular case numbers starting with a 5, electronic case status information is
available (see Finding the Status of Your Case, below). For cases with particular case numbers
starting with a 0, you must write to request the status of your case.

Hi perm_faq,

I have two receipt notices with 'Received Date' as Dec 30, 2005. Both receipt number starts with WAC060725xxxx. But one has a 'Notice Date' of Jan 05, 2006 where as the other is Jan 06, 2006. Why the notice date is different when they were issued on the same day (072th). Also shouldn't the 72nd working day be Jan 10th or later? Moreover, on the USCIS web site the message says both of them were received on Jan 05, 2005. I am confused, can you help me to understand this?

Thanks,

Confused

I am confused

I have a my receipt # WAC05245xxxxx

I can understand that 05 stands for year 2005

245 stands for what?

The date from the start of the fiscal year or calendar year? My petiton was received on Sept-12-2005. Therefore if we add 245 days from October-01-2004, we will get June-03-2005. Or if we add 245 days from January-01-2005, then we get September-03-2005. Could you please explain this? I am sorry I am not good at this.

Thanks

It is 245 "working" days from Oct 1,2004 (for fiscal yr 2005)....which will come to sept-12, 2005.

It is most likely right since mine is 252 and my RD is sept 21, 2005..

Fiscal year starts = Oct 1 every year
Fiscal year ends = Sep 30 every year

Even though we have 365 days/year, you have to exclude all Saturdays, Sundays, National holidays. So actual working days is much less in a year approx ~ 260 days/year...

Hope that explains

The Receipt notice is kind of ID for our applications. I don't think we should calculate the work days
based on the RD/ND or shipping dates. I have seen many cases (including mine) offset by few days
more or few days less to ND when calculating the "3-digit workdays" for the WAC receipt number.
So just add the correction count +/- some days. I don't know why they don't do accurately.

Also, 3-digit workday is, based on "fee taken". Not sure when they take it and when they call it as notice date.
"001 = represents the computer workday in the fiscal year on which the fee was taken"

""Why the notice date is different when they were issued on the same day (072th). ""
-- I think, on 72nd work day they have got the "fee checks" cleared.

"Moreover, on the USCIS web site the message says both of them were received on Jan 05, 2005.".
-- Not sure. I do see similar message for all my notices.

Do you get to the "exact" number of "workdays" in your Receipt notice, when you count by the notice date -or- receipt date?
