I think it does not make a difference.
When we entered using AP (our daugther is a USC), we decided to stand in the visitors line. However since the USC line was empty, they actually asked us to move there.
Also, with using AP - there is no processing itself that the IO does in the line...
My AP status says
"Current Status: Document mailed to applicant. On August XX, 2007 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service."
Does this mean it is...
jk0274: Thanks for the response.
My 3rd question still remains unanswered. What i really wanted to know is that - for the sequence of tasks in the processing of a 485 application (like fingerprinting, background check, look for approved I-140, etc.) - where does the I-140 approval hold other...
Jay,
TB Skin Test: Is supposedly safe for pregnant women as well.
TB Chest X-Ray: Is not needed if the Skin test above turns negative. But if skin test is positive, then INS will require X-ray. X-ray is not recommended for pregnant women. So in this situation, you probably have to wait...
I have just applied for my I-485 based on a pending I-140 (EB2/India) - became current on June1,07. The I-140 was applied in Jan07 (5 months ago) and is pending at TSC. I'm sending my AOS applications to NSC.
Question:
1. Will my 485/EAD/AP applications be moved to TSC (since my i140 is...
Hepatitis B not needed (unless the surgeon feels that you are at high risk)
Polio - is not appropriate for age.
Influenza B (Assume this is the Haemophilus Influenza B or HIB) was also not needed.
If travelling back with H1/H4 visa, she will also need the original I-485 filing reciept (though she does not need the AP document).
Here is the USCIS law about H1/H4 traveling abroad while 485 is pending:

Also for AOS medical examinations, anything >5mm is considered a positive on the skin test.
You can read all these in detail in the Medical examination instructions for civil surgeons.
http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/pdf/ti-civil.pdf
Per CDC, the skin test is safe during pregnancy as well. But it is safer to verify this with her obgyn (rather than the civil surgeon). The X-ray is not recommended during pregnancy though.
CDC requires that everyone applying for AOS and over the age of 2 take a TB skin test. There are only 2 exceptions to this:
1. If you have had a prior positive reaction to this test.
2. If you are exempt from taking the medical examination (some 245i clause).
And INS requires surgeons to...
My TSC I-140 case status/LUD hasnt changed at all since the RD of Jan07. Is this normal? Does LUD only change when the case is processed or are there any interim LUD's? Please help gurus?
Ginnu,
Is the affidavit of support needed in an employment based situation? My wife is on H4 and we're applying for AOS now (140-EB2-based). Our lawyer asked us to get a bank statement but nothing about an affidavit.
Also the I-485 instructions mention I-864 and that too only for some...
My understanding is from what some of my collegaues have been advised by our company lawyer. Lawyer specifically asked their spouses to change back to H4 before filing 485. They had to give up their financial aid for this as well. And the reason given was intent in the F1 status. But apparently...
F1 visa cannot have an immigrant intention
F1 visa cannot have an immigrant intention and therefore you cannot apply for adjustment of status (485) while on F1. H1 / H4 do allow for dual-intent and she should be fine applying for 485 while on either of those.
