How is it coming along gents? Really sorry to see people stuck in the queue again. This seems like a never ending cyclic process which occurs every few years. Backlogs increase till they break the camel's back and the poor legal immigrants finally band together to fight the system. They make...
It is great to the see the online community experience continue on over the years. A couple of years ago, the CSC forum was a happening place. We had waited together for such a long time that get togethers were a weekly affair. Meeting to celebrate approvals was always fun, but meeting to drown...
Risky! Would you want to take the chance that you might mess it up? Not to say lawyers do the best job in the world, but atleast that is one worry off your head.
ac214u,
I am locking this thread and will be deleting it shortly. Please do NOT use this forum as a means to advertise your wares. Rajiv has very strong feelings on this issue, since this forum is meant to be a place to help people without the clutter of advertisements.
The I94 does not really apply to people entering the country on AP. When you are on your AP, the length of your stay is determined by your 485 application and not a visa. So it is doubtful you will have to fill a new I94, but in the eventuality you do, and it is accepted by the INS officer, just...
Sounds like a case of sour grapes to me. It isn't your job to play the vigilante, it is the job of the DHS. What goes around usually comes around IMHO.
There are two ways to handle it, legal and illegal:
The legal way:
1. Apply for a new passport and this time explicitly ensure that the place of birth is the same as that on the birth certificate (I am not sure as to why anyone would/could confuse being born in Bhutan with being born in...
I did pretty much the same thing as you, filed an affadavit from my parents claiming non availability of BC. But trying to beat INS to the punch, I tried to get a certificate of non-availibility from back home. Unfortunately I realized that it is just as tough to get the damn non-availibility...
I usually recommend staying on H1 over EAD, but my reasons may differ a little. Having gone through the 485 application process the hard way, working on EAD meant being at the mercy of the INS. EAD's were expected to be renewed on a yearly basis. Due to long processing lines, it very often meant...
ECGC,
I did receive my approval some time ago. Planning to go back to school and get another degree so don't have as much time to hang around on the forums any more.
With regards to people being blind - nothing we can do about it, to each his or her own. But I find the attiude quite funny...
Thank you all for your participation, but this discussion is completely out of hand. I am closing this thread and will delete any futher attempts to revive this discussion in the future.
Thank you all for your understanding and cooperation.
ruxrux,
You are probably right. This is another of SM's attempts to deflect the bad rap. I just wonder why he would try and shift the mess to me. But then that was always his attitude so nothing changed there.
ECGC,
Good to hear of your approval and of your service to the Kerry...
Actually the airline has NO business taking your AP. I am surprised they did it. You should always carry a photo copy of your AP with you to hand over to airlines and never give them the original.
Still no harm done. As long as you have one copy you are good to go.
I am not looking to start a flame war on the moderator's forum. You asked for an opinion, I gave it. I think both closing and deleting a thread are pretty severe displays of muscle flexing and should be used wisely. I am sure you thought long and hard before making the decision, and kudos for...
One recommendation - Free speach. The basic essence of this board is for people to express opinions. If something is contrary to the spirit of the board, there needs to be self moderation by individual members where people stop feeding the troll. In other words people stop posting to those...
This is probably the wrong place to post for job inquiries. But with regards to the intent to deny, can't you file a petition to reopen the case? Try to fix the problem that has led to the denial. Unless there is a basic problem with the case, you should be able to appeal.
As mentioned above, it is not really a done to to play around musical chairs with your address, specially where INS is concerned. And I am not entirely sure if you are aware that AR 11 has to be filed EVERYTIME you move, and NOT if you change your address on file from a place you have never...
