u dont need the 140 of the primary when u apply for 485 of derivatives. dont take my word for it and check with a lawyer since USCIS is erratic and no one knows what RFE they may issue even though it doesnt make sense.
good luck

there is no category as 'CP'...the categoris shown are same as the normal visa categories which you may be aware of like K-1, V-1, etc. In the list that you see in the 'immigrant appointment schedule', the categories are family based (F), employment based (E), etc.
So if you are...
GS28,
Ram is right. Once NVC gets ur case, ur lawyer will need to contact them and make a request to get ur consulate re-assigned to ur liking. It does cause some dealys...in our case it was about 1 month.
also, in our case first we were assigned Chennai consulate even though the 140...
Hi,
1. You need to take 2 pictures each for each applicant. The approval notice will provide specific instructions on list of items to take. Normally for a minor, they just mail the green cards (I-551) directly after approval and dont necessarily need the PP stamp. but again check the...
vijpat9,
i would not wait and apply for her 485 right away. ead and ap is up to you whether you want to keep 'H' visa or not...just research here if you dont know the pros and cons...also remember you will have to renew her h-4 separately whenever you renew ur H-1.
for the list of docs for...
I just got my 485 approved on 1/20/05 and my ND is 11/03. I had added my spouse to my 485 application on 9/04.
Any ideas when we can expect her 485 approval. She has not even received her FP notice yet...so that maybe a sign. But what 'processing date' do we go by for her case? Is it when...
grg2005,
I agree with what the RealCanadian is saying in your case. In general, in rading these forums, I have gathered there is a 30-60-90 day rule depending how aggressive or conservative your position in deciding how many days do u stick around after your gc approval. if u get laid off...

My FP was done before I added her to my 485 application. can i still go in with my FP notice and the I-551 stamp in passport and get her FP done? and how will they 'tie-it' in to her application?

good luck
