    If your stay and status in US were smooth with no illegal stay, no working without authorization, no criminal histoy .......etc, then use the AP without concern if you are the principal or dependent, by yourself or accompany family, with valid EAD, gaps between EADs or no EAD at all.

    Very variable from 2 months up to decades. If every thing is OK and the I485 (step 2) application received, the EAD usually approved within 90 days. obviously, few cases approved in few weeks and others stuck pending forever.

    You should respond in the time specified with normal Xray (or supporting documents). Failure to do that, could adversly affect your pending I485. Ask civil surgeon to explain the situation and include this in the sealed letter.
