Travel on AP. Issues, problems? Please help

Hello,

I am currently pending adjustment of status (employment based I-485 on my wife’s job). I have EAD and AP. I am planning to travel for the first time since I came in the US on J1. After that I was on F1, H1, and now adjustment of status.

My questionas are:
1. Have anyone experienced any problems coming back into the US? If yes, why were they denied entry?
2. I hear some people were denied entry because they worked without an authorization, is that true? I never did, but my EAD’s are so confusing timewise that I am afraid an officer may make a mistake.
3. Would the fact that my wife is the main applicant ( I will be traveling alone) be a reason that I can be denied entry?

If your stay and status in US were smooth with no illegal stay, no working without authorization, no criminal histoy .......etc, then use the AP without concern if you are the principal or dependent, by yourself or accompany family, with valid EAD, gaps between EADs or no EAD at all.

Thank you. What if someone had worked without an authorization for a few months. Can an officer at the boarder know that? Do they have means of viewing your tax returns or whether have you filed taxes at all?

Even if you volunteer (do not, this is an example) this information, you cannot be denied parole at the POE just because you worked without authorisation.

What is few is few? Six months or more is dangerous, less than that may be OK. If they send you to secondary inspection, the officers will have more ideas about your unauthorized work. When the US issue a law like "do not work without authorization" there suppose to be a way to inforce it or it will not be issued in the first place
