Simon did you validate this theory with DV-2013 data only, I mean Entrants and selected entrants of 2013?
I do believe this is a strong theory of what is hapening during selection
Another thing to mention is I do believe that more special countries in one region lead to a slow VB...

I ran it for first thousand AF region, sure there were changes,
and till yesterday April cases wasn't included (250 cases all holes)

Data are extracted from ceac website by querying case by case, 2014AF1, 2014AF2 and so on. we need to run it again next month.

I didn't study very well this point, but it seems right. another point I just notice is about 2012 issued visa, AF and EU received 13,582 and 13,093 resp. Knowing the succes rate for both region, AF shold have more selectees.
